A handful of New Love Plus screenshots are now available. The images show a first look at the game in “book mode” (hold the with the screens lined up left and right), which makes it one of the first titles for the 3DS to support the horizontal of the system. We recently received a bunch of new details about New Love Plus – you can read up on them here.

Nintendo is continuing to conduct “Iwata Asks” interviews with third-parties. Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D will be released next week in Japan, so it makes sense that the Big N has published a discussion between Satoru Iwata and producer Masachika Kawata. We’ve posted some of the details from the interview below.

– Resident Evil Revelations development started before The Mercenaries 3D
– Revelations is taking longer since the team is taking their time to work on the scenario and other areas of the game
– Capcom wanted to get something out close to the 3DS launch, which is why work began on The Mercenaries 3D
– Mercenaries 3D started as a technology test
– There was also demand for there to be a standalone product for Mercenaries
– Revelations/The Mercenaries 3D share staff members
– Producer Masachika Kawata believes they’ve been able to put the knowhow from creating Mercenaries 3D into Revelations
