Finally, all speculation can come to an end regarding the 3DS’ launch date and price. Nintendo just announced at their official conference in Japan that the portable will go on sale on February 26, 2011 for 25000 yen. In North America and Europe, the system will be out sometime in March.


As it turns out, Resident Evil: Revelations isn’t the only 3DS RE game in the works. A short while ago, it was announced that Resident Evil: The Mercenaries is also in development for the system. Capcom has also saved one additional announcement for the 3DS: Mega Man Legends 3. You can check out more details below.

CAPCOM BRINGING MEGA MAN LEGENDS 3 PROJECT AND RESIDENT EVILTM: THE MERCENARIES 3D TO NINTENDO 3DS
LONDON, UK — September 29, 2010 — Capcom, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games today announced that the Mega Man Legends 3 Project and Resident EvilTM: The Mercenaries 3D are in development for the Nintendo 3DS platform. Fans of both iconic series will see their favourite heroes and villains come to life like never before with Nintendo’s breakthrough 3D technology. The announcements were made during the Nintendo Conference 2010 which took place in Japan earlier today.

For years, fans have been clamouring for a new instalment to the Mega Man Legends series and now the Mega Man Legends 3 Project will see their request realized. Indeed, fans will have an opportunity to be part of the development process like never before as they interact directly with the team. ‘We have wanted to create a new instalment in this series for a number of years,’ commented the title’s Executive Producer, Keiji Inafune. ‘And it is great that we now have the opportunity to bring this title to the Nintendo 3DS.’ Further details of this project will be revealed at next month’s New York Comic-Con. – Can stop gameplay to connect to the Internet
– 3DS titles can communicate with each other even when in sleep mode

– There is a light on the upper-right of the 3DS which shows when it has received new data from another system

– Don’t need to be playing the game at the time to exchange data
– Namco Bandai wants to use the local Wi-Fi (Tag Mode) for rankings/ghost data for Ridge Racer 3D
– Super Street Fighter IV 3DS: Wi-Fi fight requests anywhere you are

The bulk of the 3DS news won’t be arriving until about two and a half hours, but we’ve found out about two new titles via Famitsu: Class of Heroes 3Dx3D and some sort of game in which the player waits tables. It’s certainly possible we’ll find out more about those two projects in a couple of hours.


– Can make your own customized character
– Choose the gender
– Can edit the character’s appearance as you progress
– Player Change System: Send out 4 generals to the battle field, switch out between them on the touch screen
– Each general has certain skills/abilities
– Who you can select is based on the scenario
– Individual general can be sent off to take on missions within the current missions
– Bottom screen shows your status
– Combat on the top screen
– 50% complete
