The Best Video Game Value for the Holidays Just Got Even Better

REDMOND, Wash.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Nintendo has everyone’s holiday shopping list covered with an array of great new products. These include Mario™-red, limited-edition Wii™ and Nintendo DSi XL™ system bundles that celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Super Mario Bros.™ game on the NES™ and a new Wii Remote™ Plus controller that has Wii MotionPlus™ motion technology built right in. Nintendo already offers tremendous video game value, and these products will make it even easier for shoppers to find fun at a great price. All new products go on sale in North America on Nov. 7, and the limited-edition products will be available while supplies last.

“Whether shoppers want to add a cool new look to their gaming setup or expand their supply of controllers with an exciting game, Nintendo offers a great value for the holidays,” said Marc Franklin, Nintendo of America’s director of Public Relations. “For anyone who is still on the fence about whether to join the world of video games, we’re offering many fun, easy, economical ways to get involved.”

The lineup of products launching Nov. 7 includes:


– Japanese name is Zombie Daisuki
– Control a group of farmers
– The farmers have been transformed into zombies after their village was attacked
– Gas turned them into zombies
– Need to lead the zombies in attacks on the city
– Zombies want to maintain and repair their farm, aren’t attacking for a random reason
– They’re trying to recover important items
– “Strategy zombie action”
– Zombies will multiply as you clear stages
– Issue directives to groups of zombies, use the stylus to draw a line to make a zombie move
– Can draw a circle first to select a subset of zombies, then direct them in different ways
– Press down on one part of the screen if you want all zombies to gather
– Zombies automatically attack when they see an enemy
– Zombies will go towards meat when they see it
– The zombies also love cute animals, will stop attacking and a heart icon will appear
– Each stage has a certain objective
– Objectives include defeating all enemies or finding an item
– Areas include shopping centers, a film studio, wilderness area
– Zombies are at the farm when they’re not attacking towns
– Build up your forces at the farm
– “Skill garden” area at the farm to train your zombies
– Can recruit new zombies
– New zombies are born once you finish a stage, can become your allies
– Power up zombies by planting seeds on your farm
– Seeds can grow into things like clothes and pudding
– Multiplayer (4 players)
– Download play
– Competitive futsal-like game with co-op boss play
– 90% complete
– Releasing in January in Japan

Top sales of 2010 thus far

Although NPD no longer releases specific numbers, they have given us a list of the top selling games in 2010 thus far. Take a look:


The most interesting part to me is the fact that Modern Warfare 2, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Wii Sports Resort, Wii Fit Plus, and Just Dance were all release last year, and yet still are on the charts for this year. Pretty impressive performance, if I do say so myself!
