We’ve received word on Square Enix’s Tokyo Game Show 2012 lineup. Nintendo fans can look forward to the first details on the Wii U version of Dragon Quest X.

It seems that only three games will be playable. Most of Square Enix’s lineup consists of software that will be appearing in trailer form.

For Square Enix’s full lineup, read on below.

Gearbox Software previously confirmed that Cpl. Christopher Winters would be included in Aliens: Colonial Marines as one of the game’s playable co-op characters. At PAX Prime 2012 today, the other three characters were revealed.

Pvt. Demarcus Short, Pvt. Jennifer Redding Quintaro and Pvt. Guillermo Quintaro will be available in the co-op mode. Concept art of the characters can be found above.

DoubleFine’s multiplatform digital download title The Cave has been announced for Wii U. Greg Rice, a representative for the company, noted that a version is in the works for the upcoming console. It will be released on the Wii U eShop – presumably at the same time as the PlayStation 3/Xbox 360/PC release.

The Cave features platforming and adventure gameplay. It comes from Ron Gilbert, who spent his early years with LucasArts and made classics such as Maniac Mansion and The Secret of Monkey Island.

You can find some recently released screenshots here.

Hooray it’s back! Interesting topic that came to mind, sort of related to the podcast we’re trying to make function properly. What do you guys think?

Edit: I enjoy that- despite the new channel, new camera, and new “season”- youtube still picks the greatest thumbnails. So good. So brave.

Like almost every game out there, a bunch of content didn’t make it into the final release of Super Mario Galaxy.

Some items are more interesting than others. For instance, EAD Tokyo made a fortress level at the very beginning of development that was ultimately cut. There are more planets, characters, and objects that were scrapped as well.

We’ve posted a gallery above that offers a look at some of Galaxy’s cut elemenets. You can find even more photos and a ton of details over at The Cutting Room Floor.
