Famitsu has published a new report from Enterbrain on Monster Hunter Tri G’s first week sales. According to the site, Tri G sold 471,055 copies in its first week. The sales consisted of just two days of data as the title launched in Japan this past Saturday.

Additionally, Tri G’s release has caused 3DS hardware sales to rise significantly. The system sold 205,962 units between November 28 to December 4, but rose to 378,114 units between December 5 to December 11. This is the 3DS’ best-selling week ever.

The 3DS has now surpassed the three million units sold mark in Japan. In total, the handheld has moved 3,237,272 units.
