Wii U eShop

Tengami will be hitting Wii U in Q1 2014. An exact date hasn’t been confirmed, but Nyamyam’s Phil Tossell told Nintendo Life that “it could be a few weeks after the iOS edition or a couple of months, but certainly no more than three months.”

“The iOS version will definitely be out Q4 this year. Wii U will be Q1 2014 — it could be a few weeks after the iOS edition or a couple of months, but certainly no more than three months.”

As far as differences between the two versions are concerned, Nyamyam believes that the Wii U version could end up being “even better” with new features that could make it into the game including alternative control schemes as well as “better ways of interacting.” The team has already considered implementing the Wiimote as an option.

“We have the Wii U version running in parity with the iOS version in terms of features, but we may be able to add stuff that makes it even better — such as alternative control schemes and better ways of interacting. We’ve considered using the Wii Remote for control, but we’ll have to see.”

Capcom is preparing a patch for DuckTales Remastered that, along with other elements, will fix online leaderboard issues in the Wii U version.

Capcom-Unity staffer JimmyRey confirmed the upcoming update. There’s no word yet on when it will be available, but one would think that we’ll be seeing it sooner rather than later.

…we are forumlating our patch plans now for all SKUs. I won’t go into details yet, but once I have a timeline and a patch list, I’ll be sure to let you know. There was a small update on Steam but it was for very small, super easy, low risk issues. A more meanful update to address issues for all systems is still being worked on and needs to go through our QA process and 1st party’s cert process.

I apologize for any inconvenince any of the issues you’ve run into might cause you. Unforutnately, QA is not an exact science. Having shipped many titles, I can tell you that there are some issues can only manifest themselves when being released out to the wild and you’ll never see in QA, like the Wii U leaderboard issue. Some issues occur very rarely and we may see once or twice during QA, but never have reliable steps to recreate and fix the issues, but when you have exponentially more users looking at it, a rare issue will sometimes appear with more frequency.

Forgotten Memories is launching on the Wii U eShop sometime within the next few months, as well as PS Vita and iOS. For the latter platform, developer Psychoz Interactive has confirmed that a demo is on the way.

What about Wii U? Psychoz says that the demo could very well head to the console as well.
