Wii U

Sonic Lost World is one of three Sonic titles that will be exclusive to Nintendo platforms. But how did that exclusivity happen in the first place?

In an interview with ONM this month, Sonic Team head Takashi Iizuka explained that Sonic Lost World was originally being made on the PC “in order to see what kind of platformer we could make.” Nintendo systems were chosen “when we tried to think about which platform would be best for this game”.

Iizuka’s full quote from the magazine reads:

“The Wii U hadn’t been revealed when development began for Sonic Lost World, so we were working on a PC version in order to see what kind of platformer we could make. Then, when we tried to think about which platform would be best for this game, we chose Nintendo.”

Tough to say, and a worthy discussion to have I think!

This is a survey that requires no signing up, accounts, clicking through ads, or anything. Just answer a required question, answer a non-required question (if you want) and make your voice heard in yet another NintendoEverything reader survey poll thing! Results will be read in the form of our top ten list on the next podcast, and if you opted to answer the written question your answer could be read on the show! So don’t say anything ridiculous.

Thanks very much. As stated above the topic for you guys this week is “Do you think the Wii U Gamepad has “justified” its own existence?”.

Take the survey here! (more details inside if you’re confused)

Despite requests from fans, Call of Duty: Black Ops II DLC never came to Wii U. Activision, however, could be changing its ways for the next Call of Duty release on Nintendo’s console, based on a new retailer listing.

GameStop indicates that all of Ghosts’ pre-order DLC being made available on other consoles is also planned for Wii U. You’ll apparently receive the Free Fall Dynamic map as well as a themed personalization pack for use in Call of Duty: Black Ops II.

There are two probable scenarios here: either the Wii U will in fact be receiving these pre-order bonuses, or GameStop has made some kind of mistake. I’m personally a bit skeptical due to the inclusion of the personalization pack, but we’ll try to nail down a concrete answer.
