Two Oddworld games are coming to Wii U: Stranger’s Wrath HD and New ‘n’ Tasty. Previously, Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee HD was released on PlayStation platforms. Might this one come to Wii U as well?

Unfortunately, the answer is no. Just Add Water CEO and Oddworld Inhabitants development director Stewart Gilray told us that there aren’t any plans for a Wii U version of Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee HD because the original title “is built on extremely old tech”, and bringing it over to Wii U would likely be a difficult process.

When asked about the possibility of Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee HD for Wii U, Gilray told us:

“I’m afraid not. Munch is built on extremely old tech, to bring it to PS3 and VITA was quite a struggle because of this, and it’s not one I’d want to repeat with WiiU, sorry.”

We’ll have more about the upcoming Oddworld games for Wii U in the coming days.

Nintendo’s new Art Academy title for Wii U, now called “Art Academy: Sketch Pad”, may be coming out on the eShop next week. A listing on the company’s website suggests a release is planned for August 7 (a Wednesday, oddly enough).

The listing also contains the following description:

Art Academy: SketchPad is a robust art application that anyone can enjoy – from beginners to experts of all ages. Unleash your creativity using realistic stylus and touch screen-based controls. The tools at your disposal allow for an amazing level of detail. The huge variety of pencils, colored pencils, and pastels behave just like the real thing – with additional tools to further enhance your experience.

Use a pre-loaded image as a subject, or anything else you wish to create works of art to your heart’s content. When you’re done, you can instantly share your creation by posting directly to Miiverse!
