The sequel to the acclaimed adventure game The Longest Journey might end up on platforms beyond just PC and Mobile devices, according to the game’s developer Red Thread Games. While Dreamfall Chapters will undoubtedly come out on PC and Mac first, “going forward”, Red Thread listed off Wii U, PS4, “Durango”, and even Ouya as possible platforms for appearances, assuming the game can reach at least a $1.75m fundraising goal.

Nintendo is preparing two Wii U updates for Wii U. The first, due next month, “adds new features and further improvements to the user experience”. It should specifically speed up load times between software.

The duration of Wii U’s load times has been a point of discussion since launch. One might be wondering: why weren’t these issues addressed before the console shipped?

Shigeru Miyamoto responded to this very question in a recent interview:

Ubisoft has published yet another internal Q&A. This time around, creative director Jonathan Morin answered a bunch of questions about Watch Dogs.

The full Q&A is posted below.

Some Wii U owners in Japan are having issues launching the eShop and are also unable to apply the latest firmware update. Instead, they’re receiving error code “105-3102”. This also means that it’s impossible to start up Dragon Quest X’s new Wii U beta at the moment.

The issues are caused a program inside the console, Nintendo says, which will soon receive a patch. Users can expect an update sometime this weekend.

Shigeru Miyamoto recently made a media tour in North America. The press were given an opportunity to chat with the creator of Mario, Zelda, and countless other IPs.

One such interview from GameSpot covers areas such as Pikmin 3’s delay, the possibility of remaking more games for Wii U (like Wind Waker), what it’s like working with overseas developers such as Next Level Games,
the challenges with Wii U’s messaging, and more.

We’ve posted the full Q&A after the break.

“History is our playground in Assassin’s Creed. Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag is a work of fiction that depicts the real events during the golden era of pirates. We do not condone illegal whaling, just as we don’t condone a pirate lifestyle of poor hygiene, plundering, hijacking ships, and over-the legal-limit drunken debauchery.”

– Ubisoft senior PR manager Stone Chin

Eh, that’s a fair response. Hiding behind the guise of “it’s historical!” is more or less false considering that “glorification” implies you’re stretching the truth to make things seem cooler than they were, but simply stating “sorry, it’s a game, get over it” is completely fair, and I would be obliged to agree with that sentiment! They aren’t being historical, but too bad, it’s a piece of storytelling.
