So… When’s Wii U releasing again?

Nintendo 3DS Continues its Evolution with Mario Kart, Super Mario and the Nintendo eShop as Nintendo Celebrates the 25th Anniversary of The Legend of Zelda

LOS ANGELES–(BUSINESS WIRE)– At the E3 Expo, Nintendo introduced a new paradigm for video games and home entertainment: Wii U™, a new console that includes a controller with a 6.2-inch screen. Adding a second screen to the living room creates a multitude of new video game experiences while offering families a variety of options to customize their entertainment.

Previously, video games played on a home console have been confined to the TV and offered identical viewpoints to each player in a multiplayer environment. Furthermore, watching TV and playing console games have been completely separate experiences. The new controller removes these boundaries, creating a more dynamic and fluid gaming and entertainment experience. Visitors to the E3 Expo will see firsthand the type of gaming experiences made possible by Wii U and the new controller such as:

A Link to the Future

One of the most storied franchises in history soars to new heights. The Legend of Zelda™: Skyward Sword shakes up the tried-and-true adventure game formula and marks a turning point for the franchise. The introduction of full motion controls enabled by Wii MotionPlus™ technology synchronizes player movements with Link’s actions while offering the most intuitive play control of any game in the series to date.

This game was released in Japan quite some time ago, but it’s finally coming to North America.

Sitting down inside the Nokia Theater for the first time to see Nintendo’s E3 press conference was incredibly electric. Everyone knew that we’d be seeing the first of a new system today, and after each trailer finished and announcement was wrapped up, everything would lean forward hoping that the next order of business was the mysterious ‘Project Cafe’. After half an hour or so, our wishes were granted, and we saw footage of what everyone was waiting for. Still, I couldn’t help but feel a little underwhelmed at the whole thing.

Sure, the curtain was pulled back on the WiiU, we got some new info on games like Skyward Sword and Super Mario 3D, and there were a plethora of new game announcements from third party developers, but at the end of the day, everything felt a little under-done.
