Best Buy drops Wii price

Update: Toys “R” Us are also temporarily dropping the price of the Wii.
The rumored Wii price drop won’t be put into effect on May 15 (if the speculation is to be believed), but Best Buy is now offering the console for $30 less. Consumers can purchase the black or white Wii bundles with Wii Sports, Wii Sports Resort, and Wii Remote Plus for just $169.99.
Keep in mind that this isn’t Engadget’s alleged price cut. Earlier this week, the site reported that the Wii’s price will be dropped to $149.99 next month, though Nintendo has yet to confirm the rumor. At the moment, Best Buy appears to be the only major retailer selling the console for less than $199.99.

Twist, turn, and move like never before with fun, motion-controlled experiences that come bundled with the Wii Remote™ Plus controller! Grip it like an umbrella, and tilt it around your body to ride gusts that blow you up, down, and to the finish line of a windy race course, or hold the controller like a mallet to strike pesky vermin from stealing vegetables from your garden. Players can even point the controller around the room to help find and capture invisible spooks! With multiple difficulty modes and game variations to unlock, up to 4 players can get caught up in the big action of the Wii Play: Motion game. For anyone looking to pick up another Wii Remote Plus controller, Wii Play: Motion is a great value that features 12 games and a bundled Wii Remote Plus controller.
IGN “confirms” streaming games on controller, screen size?

Check out these two blurbs from the latest IGN article…
“According to our sources, the new Nintendo controller will feature dual analog sticks in addition to standard d-pad and trigger buttons. It’ll mirror a Gamecube controller in general function but not in specific form.”
“Sources now confirm to IGN the new Nintendo controller allows players to stream entire games to the device from the console, saying it’s like a miniature television. The screen size on the controller is also confirmed to be six inches in size.”
It sounds like the “screen on the controller” idea is really picking up steam. The concept seems interesting, but I’d like to see it in execution. If IGN is correct, we’ll be seeing first and third-party games at E3… so we’ll also be able to check out the controller for the first time. That is, if all of these “sources” know what they’re talking about!
IGN’s Reilly offers more Wii 2 rumors – controller details, streaming content, E3 note
Posted on 13 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, Rumors, Wii | 0 comments
Ready for more Wii 2 rumors? I hope so, since IGN’s Jim Reilly just posted more speculation on his Twitter account. According to his messages, the console’s controller will have dual analog sticks and the system itself is capable of streaming content. However, it isn’t clear if that includes full games, mini-games, or just applications. Reilly also claims that both first and third-party games will make an appearance at the show, though it’s anyones guess if they’ll be playable or not.
“Dual analog sticks on the controller. Can stream game content from the console. Not sure if it’ll be full games, mini-games, or apps. There will be first and third party ‘Wii 2’ games at E3. No clue if they’ll be playable.”
