[Let’s Talk] Metroid Prime Remastered impressions

After years of rumors and speculation, Metroid Prime Remastered was unveiled during a Nintendo Direct last week. Even better, you can play it right now by picking it up from the eShop. The physical version will also be in stores very soon.
Metroid Prime Remastered obviously isn’t a new game, but some of you might be playing it for the first time. We’re also sure that some of you only played it back on the GameCube and haven’t revisited it until now.
No matter what your experience is, what do you think of Metroid Prime Remastered? How do you feel about the upgraded visuals? Which control style are you going for? Let us know in the comments below.

Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time was the “mic drop” of the direct for me, but I’m also glad to hear and see more info and footages for Pikmin 4, Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe, and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Also, Game Boy and Game Boy Advance coming to NSO at last is good to see, at least for me. So glad to finally (re)play a good WarioWare game on my Switch.
Metroid Prime Remastered is nice to see for me and though I have the Metroid Prime Trilogy on my Wii U, I haven’t made an inch throughout the first game (while not touching the others), so I’m going to have to “finish” that on my Switch…but that’ll be for later since I’m planning to use all of March to make last-minute purchases for my 3DS and Wii U.
I’m fairly interested in Fashion Dreamer for the overall clothing aspect, but I’ll wait out for more info on it. Hopefully this one has a “free mode” for me to go wild with my imaginations.
Overall, while this direct was amazing in my book, I’m more happy that Level-5 is back and therefore, I’m hoping nothing goes wrong on their localization side again this time. No new first-party announcements either, but Metroid Prime Remastered and the Magolor Epilogue mode in Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe are enough to make up for that for me.

It was… just fine to me.
The only thing I was hoping for was an announcement of a new first party game for the second part of the year, but it didn’t happen. It makes sense I guess. Anything would be “ignored” by people because of TotK, so they are probably waiting a few month before they announce whatever is coming for the second part of the year.
.- The Xenoblade 3 DLC gave me goosebumps and the Mario Kart DLC was nice.
.- I can finally try Baten Kaitos.
.- Metroid Prime seems fine, but I don’t think I will ever get it because I already have the trilogy on the Wii U.
.- The GBA is coming!… but on the expansion pack… I was expecting it to be that way, but…
I wasn’t particularly interested on anything else.

Biggest miss is the lack of a brand new 1st party announcement, but other than, that this was a very good Direct. Certainly a big improvement over last September’s farming sim Direct lol

For some reason I was just expecting them to talk about Zelda but instead got a normal direct, which is fine with me, and less I know about the new game the better (although I did learn I do not like presumably Ganondorf’s voice but got to give them props for being at a consistent level of cheese with the other characters I guess).
It was cool to see what was new in Pikmin 4. I’m all about the surprise announcements so I really liked to see the Metroid Prime Remaster, even though it was in a rumor a few years ago that was about a trilogy port, not the glorious looking remaster we got. Got some motivation to finish Prime 3. The GB and GBA drop was great, there’s some games I haven’t played and some I look forward to replaying. One of the most exciting announcements to me was the new Professor Layton game. I don’t need any info, just the teaser is enough.
Even though I’m not likely going to play Baten Kaitos, I know that’s something that is going to make a lot of people happy. Same with Splatoon 3, was cool to see the revisit to the original, but I just don’t have the drive to sink time into an endless multiplayer style game right now, it doesn’t deliver the false sense of accomplishment as strongly as single player games.
