[Let’s Talk] What are you playing? – February 2022

Posted on February 5, 2022 by (@NE_Brian) in Let's Talk

A new month started up earlier this week. Now that we’re in February, we want to know what you’ve been playing.

Are you dedicating your time to Pokemon Legends: Arceus? Playing any other recent titles like Banjo-Kazooie on Switch Online, Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX 2, Record of Lodoss War: Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth, or Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel? No matter the case, let us know in the comments below.

Highlights from last week’s topic: Pokemon Legends: Arceus impressions

Kalmaro

So far, I’m enjoying the game. I like:

1) How they handled the Pokédex. Now they encourage you to actually catch them.

2) Battles. Now you can see turn orders and see how your attacks will influence it.

3) Status effects are changed.

4) Capturing Pokémon feels more dynamic.

5) The Pokémon feel more “alive”. The birds seem incapable of touching the ground (from what I’ve seen so far) but otherwise, they all feel better and more fun to see in action.

There’s a lot to like. The game is not perfect. It looks a little dated, they want you capturing a bunch of Pokémon, but there’s no way to release multiple ones. You can’t jump (initially). It’s also easy to get over-leveled just from playing normally.

That said, I think this is a step in the right direction.

Dunnington

This is an ugly, ugly game. Sometimes it’s kind of funny, sometimes it takes you out of the experience.

But maaaaan if I’m not hopelessly addicted to it. The gameplay loop is fantastic, and it’s the most fun I’ve had with a Pokemon game in a long, long while. Makes me excited to see what they do in the next generation.

Roto Prime

BEST game EVER!! Amazing looking, epic gameplay, CLEAN HUD!!! Super hard, can play it the way I want, I enjoy it ever so much. I have shed so many tears playing this work of art, this magnum opus. THANK YOU GAMEFREAKS, from the bottom of my heart. Thank you <3
