F-zero 99 is great, not exactly what I wanted but still a good time. The difference between f-zero 99 and federation force is that 99 is the exact kind of mode I would want in a new f-zero but nothing about federation force felt like a mainline Metroid game

Like everyone else here, I really wanted a new full-fledged F-Zero game, with new and remastered tracks and more. With all that said:
HOW THE HELL DOES IT WORK SO WELL?!
This is probably the best spin on the pseudo-Battle Royale genre I’ve seen since Tetris 99. The game is addicting, even without major unlockables, the races are fun and engaging, the maps are colorful and the presentation is spot on.
This isn’t what I wanted – but I’m glad I got this.

I’m with the camp that wants a new F-Zero game, but I still had a great time with F-Zero 99 myself (and would even label it as my favorite “99” game on NSO) for being more focused to my tastes while retaining the franticness of the Battle Royale genre.
