If there’s one thing Zelda fans know at this point, it is that a game in the series is in development for the Wii. However, according to speculation from IGN, Retro Studios was working on an entirely new Zelda title at one point. More than a year ago, the company apparently was doing the next Zelda or something big with it. Though, for one reason or another, they stopped development on the title. The rumor was circulating the internet for a bit, but IGN was confident in their sources to the point where it was almost posted on the site. In the latest Nintendo Voice Chat podcast, the IGN Nintendo Team did state that Retro Studios is, again, no longer busy with the rumored game.

Christian Svensson, Corporate Officer/VP of Strategic Planning & Business Development, has updated the status of the company’s to-be-announced E3 title once again. Believe it or not, Mr. Svensson was originally under the impression that a different game was going to be announced. But in actuality, the game is something that fans do not know about. Capcom is hoping that the title will be a surprise. Check out Mr. Svensson’s response below:
“Update… and apologies. The thing I thought was the other game we were announcing is in fact, not being announced at E3 (the plan changed, it’s being announced later). So that las game is not something you know anything about and hopefully, it will be a complete surprise. So I was wrong. You may resume speculation/your frenzy of excitement.”

Update: Make sure to read our latest post about Capcom’s game – Capcom’s Christian Svensson clears up some confusion.
Capcom has been teasing their fans for the past couple of days, releasing hints here and there regarding their secret E3 game. The company is at it once again today and has dropped off another hint.
“K, ‘nother hint: this franchise has never appeared on this hardware.”
That small blurb was released on Capcom’s official twitter page. Recently, people began to predict that the company’s title would be Monster Hunter 3. Technically, it’s still possible that the game is indeed Monster Hunter 3…But that depends on how you look at the statement above. I suppose we’ll have to wait until E3 to find out for sure.
