Hardcore gamers, fear not. Even with mass-market titles like Wii Music, Shigeru Miyamoto has no plans of abandoning core titles such as Zelda. Miyamoto explained this week that ” What you can’t forget is that we need to continue to make Zelda games.” Miyamoto went on to say, “The way we operate is that we usually have people moving from one team to another, so giving people the opportunity to move around from a project like a Zelda game to something a little different like WiiMusic has really helped invigorate the staff and helped create a really great internal team. In fact, the lead art designer on WiiMusic is one of the lead art designers of Pikmin. The art design for WiiFit was one of the Zelda designers. But they’ve all gone back to their original teams.”

If all goes to plan, Strong Bad Episode 3 should be releasing this coming Monday on WiiWare. As has been the case with prior Strong Bad titles, the third episode will set you back 1,000 points.

“I’m not in a position to be able to confirm or deny any kinds of sequels, but I will point that there will probably be at least five seasons of the Clone Wars. [You] do the math. I think we were all finding out what the Clone Wars was about when we made the game. It was a journey for all of us. Now that we’ve done that, we understand the show and know where it can go, it would be fantastic to do a second one now, knowing what we do. But that’s always going to be true of every game you make.” – project lead Feargus Carroll
