Two new rewards have just gone live for European My Nintendo users: 30% discounts for both Picross e and Picross e2 on 3DS. They each cost 150 Platinum Points and are available until September 1st.

Image & Form appears to have plans to bring SteamWorld Bundle to Wii U. That’s according to a rating that’s appeared on the USK, Germany’s ratings board. I suppose Image & Form will have something to say about this officially soon!
The folks at Gamexplain interviewed Paper Mario: Color Splash co-producer Risa Tabata about the game. You can watch the full interview below, but we’ve also highlighted some of the more notable bits of information.
-Idea for the game started formulating right after Sticker Star was released
-Based ideas around the Wii U
-Completing the story should be around 30 hours, but completing everything in the game would be much longer
-There will be control options to allow for using buttons rather than the touchscreen
-No special Miiverse functions (outside of regular sharing screenshots and posting)
-Not including RPG elements because the Mario and Luigi games already cover the RPG genre
-Defeating enemies will drop item that lets you increase your maximum paint capacity
-Open to making an HD remaster of a Paper Mario game if they hear enough demand
-Want to figure out different paper-based themes for making future games
We all know that Dragon Quest is a massive hit in Japan. When it comes to the west though, the series hasn’t seen the same sort of success. Square Enix’s Yu Miyake shared two reasons as to why this is the situation we’re in.
Miyake first told Polygon:
“There’s two main reasons. The first is that, in Japan, the Famicom was kind of the moment that video games became part of families, and people really started bringing them into their homes.”
“In the West, we feel like PlayStation is where home consoles really caught on with Final Fantasy 7, so Final Fantasy has that foundation … where it really captured the hearts of gamers.”
Miyake also pointed to the “cartoonish style” from character designer Akira Toriyama as a turnoff for overseas gamers.
Capcom has made a couple of Japanese announcements regarding Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice.
First, the game is receiving new DLC in collaboration with Sengoku Basara. Phoenix can wears clothes based on Date Masamune, Apollo has a Sanada Yukimura outfit, and Athena is given Tokugawa Ieyasu garb. The DLC is due out on June 23 and costs 143 yen.
