AckkStudios has shared yet another clip from YIIK. Once again, the video shows more dialog and voice acting in the game. Check it out below.

AckkStudios has shared another clip from its upcoming Wii U eShop project YIIK, which you can see below. It’s an event scene that gives us another glimpse at the game’s voice acting.

YIIK has a slightly more specific release window. At least for now, the title is planned for release between mid December and late February.

AckkStudios has also reiterated what we’ve heard about the Wii U version. On the GamePad, it will be possible to take on battle mode mini-games that are tailored specifically for the controller. Music-based mini-games will use the touchscreen keyboard to play songs.

AckkStudios shared a new (albeit short) video from its upcoming RPG YIIK today. We’ve posted it below.

YIIK may have a chance of landing on NX. Andrew Allanson, who is AckkStudios’ co-director for the project, told Nintendo News that the port is likely to happen if the Big N’s new system supports Unity.

Allanson said:

“Oh man, I know as much about NX as everyone else. If Nintendo’s new console supports Unity, we’ll bring YIIK to it. Unity is sort of like “program once, port everywhere,” so it’s a matter of, I’d say, around six weeks per console. It’s pretty short!”

Allanson also spoke about how YIIK will use the Wii U GamePad:

“… one example is the record. When you fight with Alex’s main attack (the spinning record), there’s a Wii U-specific move called Record Scratch where the GamePad becomes a virtual turntable.”

“You can do a bunch of DJ-style things that are exclusive to the Wii U version. The other moves have been tailored, so you execute them on the GamePad as well — albeit in a slightly different manner.”

YIIK is on track to launch via the eShop and other platforms this winter.

Wii U owners have been waiting a long time for Chromophore: The Two Brothers Director’s Cut on the Wii U eShop. By the end of this year or early 2016, the RPG should finally be available.

AckkStudios had been working with a third party to port over the PC version to Wii U. Unfortunately, even though it had been fully paid for, the conversion was never completed and the partnership broke down. That’s in spite of the fact that the money had been paid for the port. Needless to say, AckkStudios has been involved with a legal situation that has apparently now been resolved.

Hiroki Kikuta, known for his work on the Secret of Mana series, will be involved with YIIK. It’s been announced that Kikuta will be contributing an arrangement for the game based on the three major themes written by AcckStudios composer Andrew Allanson.

Kikuta will be able to create any type of track he wishes based on the three themes. Additionally, an area of the game will be specifically designed to complement his piece.
