It’s been a very long wait for Gotta Protectors outside of Japan. Thankfully, we can finally say that the game is making its way west very soon. Ancient now has an English site up confirming Gotta Protector’s release date in North America.

You’ll be able to pick up the game starting on July 21. According to the official site, it’ll be priced at $12.99.

Here’s a trailer:

Protect Me Knight 2 originally came out in Japan as a 3DS eShop game in 2014. Ancient confirmed the game’s localization towards the end of last year, though there hasn’t been too much news since.

The second volume of the official soundtrack did recently come out, revealing a new English name: Gotta Protectors. Ancient has since confirmed that this is officially the new English title. Now we just need to know when the game itself will be available outside of Japan!

Protect Me Knight 2 was confirmed for the west last February. It’s been nearly a year since then, though not much has been said regarding localization since then.

There is some good news to report though. Protect Me Knight 2 remains on track for the west, and a recent screenshot from Ancient even shows the game running in English. Hopefully it’s a sign that we’ll be seeing the game in North America and Europe soon.

Developer Ancient has said on Twitter that work on the English version is progressing steadily. We also have a look at the English logo (see above) and a final name: “Protect Me Knight 2: The Princess’s TOKIMEKI Rhapsody”.

Ancient is developing a sequel to Protect Me Knight, a Japanese indie title for the Xbox 360.

The new game features four-player local co-op, “about ten times” as much content as the original, and music from Yuzo Koshiro music. Two new characters have been shown thus far: an older knight on a toy horse and an archer.

A price point for the Protect Me Knight hasn’t been announced, though it will be “about twice” the Xbox 360 version given the large increase in content.

Protect Me Knight is heading to the Japanese 3DS eShop in September. At the moment, an international release hasn’t been decided.
