Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II Switch update

A new update has just gone live for the Switch version of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords.

Aspyr has confirmed that this addresses the game-breaking bug that was previously reported, though there was a bit of a workaround built in already. On top of that, a couple of other issues have been fixed.

The full patch notes for the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords update on Switch are as follows:

Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II bug fix workaround

Aspyr, the company that brought Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II to Switch, has offered a temporary workaround for those impacted by the game-breaking bug we reported on this week.

The studio believes the issue “is only affecting a small number of users”. However, it still intends to distribute a patch to all players in the near future.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II game-breaking bug

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords players have come across a game-breaking bug in the newly-released Switch version. Because of it, there’s no way to progress all the way to the finish line.

Aspyr, the company that brought Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords to Switch, confirmed the issue on Twitter. When one fan asked if there is no way to complete the title currently, Aspyr acknowledged that this is the case. However, a patch is planned and will be distributed “as soon as possible.”

Aspyr has recently confirmed that the planned DLC for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords is set to release later this year in Q3 2022. This DLC is titled “Sith Lords Restored” and features a load of new content, including a mission with droid companion HK-47, a revamped ending, new dialogue and interactions among your crew, and new quests and combat missions scattered throughout the world.

This DLC is actually restored content that was cut from the original release of the game, back in 2004. Aspyr has opted to make this content a free DLC, so players will be able to experience it at no additional cost.
