Onrush hasn’t been explored for Switch, but its director says Nintendo’s system “is a fantastic piece of kit”
Posted on 6 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 6 Comments
Onrush is a new arcade-esque racer from Codemasters. It’s received a decent amount of buzz since its initial reveal, and some would say that it would be a good fit on Switch.
A Switch port hasn’t been ruled out, but it’s not something that’s happening quite yet either. Director Paul Rustchynsky recently told Redbull, “We haven’t started looking at what it would take to get up and running on Switch, but we are huge fans of Nintendo and the Switch is a fantastic piece of kit.”
Is Onrush a game you’d like to see on Switch?

Codemasters considering Switch support, but unlikely to port over same exact games from PS4 / Xbox One
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 26 Comments
Codemasters was listed in the lineup of developer partners on board with Switch last October. Thus far, however, the company has yet to produce any games for the console.
GameIndustry did ask creative director Lee Mather if Codemasters will return to Nintendo platforms by supporting Switch in the future. He acknowledged that, given its success, “there’s certainly the possibility we’ll look at doing something on Switch.” However, bringing over Codemasters’ same exact games from the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One is unlikely.

Codemasters not ruling out Dirt 4 for Switch
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 15 Comments
Codemasters announced Dirt 4 yesterday. It’s the next entry in the company’s long-running racing series. At least initially, the game won’t be coming to Switch, but senior designer Darren Hayward isn’t ruling out the possibility of it happening in the future.
Hayward told Daily Star:
“Personally, I’ve got my Switch pre-ordered and I’m getting it day one. Obviously at launch [DiRT 4] is not coming to Switch. We’d already picked our platforms. We’ve nothing to announce right now, but, I wouldn’t rule it out.”
Hayward was also asked how he thinks racing games can work on a system like Switch. He said in response:
“There are signs of more traditional games coming out for Switch with full controller support like Skyrim, but would Dirt Rally or Dirt 4 work on a split Switch controller? I think we’d have to do quite a lot in terms of extra tweaks.”
“When you take it away and you’ve got it in tablet mode with the Joy-Cons it’s great, but those split controllers, that’s custom game design right there specifically for that platform. There are not many inputs, so you’d have to have super simplified controls and because of that, it may not be the ideal scenario for DiRT 4. That said, I could definitely see Nintendo Switch having some compelling racing experiences.”

F1 Race Stars: Powered Up Edition launched in Japan months ago, but oddly enough, it hasn’t been available overseas. That’ll be changing in December.
Codemasters announced today that F1 Race Stars: Powered Up Edition will head to North America and Europe in December. It’ll come out as an eShop-only release – no retail version planned.
F1 Race Stars: Powered Up Edition is more or less the same game that hit other consoles, albeit with some additions. The package adds four extra tracks and nine extra accessory packs. Additionally, players can race as their Mii, use tilt controls with the GamePad, and display the map on the controller.
