Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams

Earlier this month, Black Forest Games released a Dream Rush multiplayer mode for Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams on PC. The mode allows up to four players to compete race each other. It has yet to hit consoles – including Wii U – though this could change in the future. Black Forest Games co-founder Adrian Goersch told RedBull in an interview that Dream Rush could make its way to additional platforms “if it is received well by the community.”

Goersch briefly touched on the studio’s new Giana Sisters game as well. It was previously said that the title could drop in late 2015 or early 2016, but the project now seems targeted for the latter timeframe.

Black Forest wrote:

As for North America, Giana Sister’s patch is still on the way. Nintendo simply needs to sign off on the update before it arrives.

Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams’ patch has been submitted for approval, Black Forest Games has confirmed.

As noted by the studio on Twitter earlier today:

At present, Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams does not emit sound when playing on the GamePad. The game’s upcoming patch should address this.

Runner2 isn’t the only Wii U eShop title confirmed to have sold one million copies this week. Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams has reached the same target, Black Forest Games has announced.

Black Forest Games’s managing director Andreas Speer said of the milestone:

“One million copies sold absolutely qualifies Giana Sisters as an indie hit – and yet it took a Kickstarter campaign to be able to develop the game. It wouldn’t have been possible in the classic way through publisher financing. It is only thanks to the dedication of our 6,000 backers that one million gamers (and counting) got the chance to play.”

The update is pretty simple: it’ll enable sound while in off-TV play mode. No additional changes/improvements are expected.

A few months ago, Black Forest Games released Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams’ “Rise of The Owlverlord” add-on for PC. The same DLC may find its way to Wii U. Black Forest Games’ Arian Goersch told NinCity that Rise of The Owlverlord is a possibility for the Wii U version, and it could be available next year.

He said:

We have just (released) Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams Rise Of The Owlverlord, an independent add-on to PC release, and hope perhaps to bring it next year on the Wii U.
