Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty is still on track to arrive on the Wii U eShop. And based on a comment from the series’ Twitter account, it may not be much longer before the game is ready to launch. The developer said it’s “literally in the final steps” on Nintendo’s console.

It’s been a long wait for Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty on Wii U, but the journey is finally over. Let’s hope an official release date is confirmed sooner rather than later.

It’s been a very long time since Oddworld Inhabitants and Just Add Water made their plans known about Wii U. As you may remember, the two companies originally hoped to bring Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath HD and Oddworld: New ‘N’ Tasty to the eShop.

We found out earlier today that New ‘N’ Tasty is still on track for Wii U. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said of Stranger’s Wrath HD.

Oddworld Inhabitants told one fan on Twitter today that there are “no current plans” to bring Stranger’s Wrath HD to Wii U. The studio did at least say that the status could change in the future.

Oddworld Inhabitants and Just Add Water has passed along some news regarding Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty. The game is still in development for Wii U, and it’s set for release “soon”. We also have the first screenshots from the Wii U build – see them below.

We’re still waiting on the Wii U version of Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty, but Oddworld Inhabitants and Just Add Water have once again said that it’s in the pipeline.

That comment was prompted by an announcement made earlier today. Specifically, it’s been revealed that a remake of Oddworld: Abe’s Exoddus is in development, though it’s unclear if a Wii U version is in the works.
