The Etrian Odyssey games allow players to map out dungeons. Similar functionality will be included in Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth, according to this week’s Famitsu. Players will be able to draw the layout of dungeons on the 3DS touch screen.

Famitsu also has the first word on “F.O.E.” monsters. Once encountered, you can choose to either run or try and take them down – again, like Etrian Odyssey. If you do defeat a F.O.E. monster, you may receive something special.

Dengeki has provided a new round of Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth screenshots and details. You can find the latest content below, courtesy of Siliconera.

– In the character select screen, you’ll choose your frontline and backline characters for your team
– May hear special dialogue between the characters
– Pick between Fuuka Yamagishi from Persona 3 and Persona 4’s Rise Kujikawa
– They’ll act as tactical support in the game
– Best to balance your team based on physical attack, skills, heals, supports, and more
– There will be a little more depending on the mix of characters you have
– Ex: having a party of all boys might result in some kind of manly friendship thing going on
– Can even make a Teddie harem party
– All characters can use their man Personas as well as sub-Personas
– This lets you form parties according to your preference
– Enemies are the same Shadows from Persona 3/4
– Brand new enemies as well
– “Boost” feature is similar to the “All-Out Attacks” as you’ll be getting it by hitting enemy weaknesses
– When you land an attack and any of the other characters are in a Boost status, they can do a “Follow-up Attack”
– Follow-up Attack: characters perform an extra hit to add to the damage
– Having more party members in your party also gives you a higher chance of being able to do an All-Out Attack

Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth is coming to North America this fall, Atlus announced today. A trailer can be found above.

Here’s an official overview provided by Atlus:

There’s a lot going on with Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth right now. Today, Atlus announced that a special 3DS XL system is coming to tie-in with the game’s release, and there will also be a unique soundtrack available as a first-print bonus. But that’s not all – a Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth Famitsu DX Pack is also on the way.

The Famitsu DX Pack will come with a copy of Persona Q, a special B5 size tapestry drawn by the Persona Q anime staff, an A3 size clear poster, five visual clear files, a Persona Q mug teased as the “motif style of the Velvet Room,” and a graphig version of Rei. Pricing is set at 10,590 yen.

Atlus has confirmed plans to release a special 3DS XL system for Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth. However, we don’t know much about the limited edition – including what it looks like.

We do have one additional tidbit about Persona Q though. First print copies, which are priced at 6,980 (same goes for the standard release), will include a Persona Q: Sound of the Labyrinth soundtrack CD (pictured above).
