Quake II update

Bethesda’s new version of Quake II just started distribution of a new update, and it’s live on Switch.

The patch includes quality of life improvements, balance changes, and notable bug fixes. Much of what’s been done here is based on player feedback.

Quake II gameplay

Quake II made it to Switch this week as part of QuakeCon 2023 celebrations, and a new batch of gameplay is here. Footage shows the initial sections plus all of the different options.

Quake II

The just-released Switch version of Quake II is getting not only one, but three different physical versions on Switch. All three come from Limited Run Games.

First up is, of course, the standard physical copy. Also available will be a special edition, which features a steelbook, poster, briefing document, and a set of dog tags in a throwback two-piece box. Lastly is the Ultimate Strogg Edition featuring all that and more, with the entire special edition, a challenge coin, mini metal Adrianator ship, and a service patch all in a beefy Strogg Collector’s Box.

Quake II

Surprise – Quake II is now available on Switch. Bethesda just released the game on the Switch eShop, which comes as part of QuakeCon 2023.

This follows the original Quake that made it to Switch in 2021. That one also saw a surprise launch during QuakeCon.

As for Quake II, it comes with the Call of the Machine expansion plus original Mission Packs, Quake II 64, online and local multiplayer, cross-play support, and optional motion aiming. More information can be found in the following overview:
