Shinobi: Art of Vengeance to feature Sonic’s Dr. Eggman and more in SEGA Villains DLC

SEGA has made an interesting announcement about Shinobi: Art of Vengeance, as the game is revealed to be getting Dr. Eggman DLC. Of course, the character stems from Sonic the Hedgehog.
Dr. Eggman will be featured in the SEGA Villains Stage along with two other mystery characters. It’s unclear what exactly will be included here, but the DLC is planned for early 2026. We should have more details when we’re closer to release.

A new demo for Shinobi: Art of Vengeance is arriving today, SEGA has announced. This comes ahead of next month’s launch.
The demo can be downloaded via the game’s official Nintendo eShop listing. With it, players can explore the first stage of the game, Oboro Village, battling enemies and traversing platforming obstacles through hand-drawn environments. After that, they can aim for the highest score in Arcade Mode and uncover hidden paths. Also worth noting, the demo unlocks certain gameplay abilities that are normally obtained later in the full game.

March 26: Shinobi: Art of Vengeance, which was previously announced for Nintendo Switch, today confirmed that a physical release will be available. Limited Run Games is working with SEGA on the boxed versions.
Shinobi: Art of Vengeance will be available standalone, but it seems that a collector’s edition is in the works. Details about it will be provided at a later date.

Shinobi: Art of Vengeance is in development for Nintendo Switch, SEGA has announced. A release date of August 29, 2025 is already set.
Shinobi: Art of Vengeance is being made by Lizardcube, the team behind Streets of Rage 4. The series has been dormant for many years, but is now returning with an all-new 2D action platformer entry featuring a hand-drawn style.
