Valfaris: Mecha Therion release date

Valfaris: Mecha Therion received a release date on consoles today, including Switch. Big Sugar and Steel Mantis shared the news that it’ll be out for Switch on August 29, 2024.

Nearly a year after it was announced for the system, Valfaris: Mecha Therion is now about to launch on Switch. It’s a sequel to the action platformer Valfaris, but now with 2.5D side-scrolling shoot ‘em up gameplay.

Here’s some additional information:

Valfaris: Mecha Therion

The 2.5D side-scrolling shoot ’em up game Valfaris: Mecha Therion is in development for Switch, it’s been revealed. A release window has not been determined at this time.

Valfaris: Mecha Therion is a sequel to the original game, which is currently available on Switch. But while that 2019 title was a 2D action platformer, Steel Mantis is going in a different direction with its next project.

Publisher Big Sugar and developer Steel Mantis have announced Valfaris: Mecha Therion, an action-packed side-scrolling shoot ’em up with a satisfying old-school feel and distinct low-poly art style. The game is planned for a late 2022 release on Switch.

If Valfaris sounds familiar, that’s because Switch received that title previously. It came to the platform in October 2019.

Developer Steel Mantis have announced that Valfaris and Slain: Back From Hell will be available in a new bundle titled ‘Valfaris & Slain: Back From Hell Double Pack’, releasing on the eShop on April 23rd.

The bundle brings together two of the developer’s heavy metal inspired action games at a reduced price. Slain: Back From Hell originally launched on Switch in 2017, while Valfaris debuted in 2019.

New footage is in for Valfaris, a 2D action-platformer for Switch. Get a look at the gameplay in the video below.

The heavy metal action-platformer Valfaris is coming to Switch on October 10, publisher Big Sugar and developer Steel Mantis announced today.

Physical and digital releases will be available. That includes a Digital Deluxe Edition, which includes the game, original soundtrack (composed and recorded by former Celtic Frost guitarist, Curt Victor Bryant), and digital artbook.

Here’s a overview of Valfaris, along with a trailer:

Merge Games is partnering with Big Sugar and Steel Mantis on the physical version of Valfaris. The game will be sold in stores this November, the company announced today. We assume that the digital launch will also be taking place around that time.

Valfaris is a heavy metal infused 2D action-platformer. The same team behind Slain: Back From Hell is handling development.
