Typoman is due out on the Wii U eShop next week, and the game’s launch trailer has come in. We’ve posted it below.

Typoman was originally on track to launch in North America and Europe this week. But today, Headup Games said that its Wii U eShop game is experiencing a slight delay.

The publisher said in a statement:

We would like to inform you that the previously communicated release date of our Wii U exclusive game Typoman will be postponed by a little. As soon as we can set a final release date, we will send out a new announcement.

Without going into too much detail please rest assured that the development has been progressing well. The game simply needs a little more time to be finalized according to the developers and our high quality standards.

We’ll let you know when Typoman receives a new release date.

Brainseed Factory already has ideas for another Typoman, which could be a sequel or possibly even a prequel. The studio is also working on “a totally new game concept”.

Brainseed Factory founder and CEO Bilal Chbib told Nintendo Life:

“We’re already working on a totally new game concept, but we also have a couple of ideas for a Typoman sequel (or maybe prequel?) as well. As you stated, it largely depends on the success.”

Before we see anything else from Brainseed, the company will first need to wrap up Typoman. The game is scheduled to launch sometime during the third quarter of this year.

Typoman is coming to the Wii U, Headup Games confirmed during GDC 2014 last week.

Players will control a little character made of letters in Typoman. You’ll need to use letters at your disposal to form words that have different effects on the stage. You may, for example, have the word “rain”, and place a “d” in front to create the letter “drain”. Doing so will allow you to drain water from a pit and continue onward. Expect to run, jump, push, and pull in Typoman as well.
