Despite requests from fans, Call of Duty: Black Ops II DLC never came to Wii U. Activision, however, could be changing its ways for the next Call of Duty release on Nintendo’s console, based on a new retailer listing.

GameStop indicates that all of Ghosts’ pre-order DLC being made available on other consoles is also planned for Wii U. You’ll apparently receive the Free Fall Dynamic map as well as a themed personalization pack for use in Call of Duty: Black Ops II.

There are two probable scenarios here: either the Wii U will in fact be receiving these pre-order bonuses, or GameStop has made some kind of mistake. I’m personally a bit skeptical due to the inclusion of the personalization pack, but we’ll try to nail down a concrete answer.

Nintendo has been working on a 3DS version of Miiverse for a significant amount of time. According to a tweet from Emily Rogers, the functionality will be ready to go in just a few months. Miiverse will apparently come to the 3DS this fall through a firmware update, and will also include the introduction of Nintendo Network IDs on the system.

Mario Kart 8 is slated for spring of 2014. When exactly the game will be hitting Wii U is unclear, as Nintendo has yet to share a specific date. However, in a recent newsletter from Nintendo of Europe, it’s mentioned that Mario Kart 8 is coming in April of next year.

You may remember that Mario Kart Wii launched in April way back in 2008. Of course, that doesn’t necessarily mean that Mario Kart 8 will arrive during the same month.

As always, take this rumor with a grain of salt until Nintendo makes an official announcement.

Crash City Mayhem may finally be launching in North America next week. Amazon lists a July 2 release, as does Nintendo’s website.

Retailer listings originally suggested a May arrival for Crash City Mayhem, but we’re now nearly in July. Here’s hoping the July 2 date sticks.

Ubisoft announced two next-generation games at E3 2013 – The Crew and The Division – but neither was confirmed for Wii U. There was always hope of both titles hitting the console, however. Remember: it took ages for Ubisoft to confirm Splinter Cell: Blacklist and Watch_Dogs for Wii U.

Unfortunately, it’s sounding unlikely that Ubisoft will be putting The Crew and The Division on Wii U. When asked about the possibility of the two games coming to Nintendo’s new system, a source speaking with The Examiner said: “I’m not sure, but I seriously doubt it.”

We normally wouldn’t be keen on posting rumors from anonymous sources, but today’s speculation comes from a site that leaked details on The Crew prior to its reveal at E3 2013 earlier this month.

Nintendo could very well be softening its stance towards “Let’s Play” videos on YouTube. Zack Scott, one of the more-recognized uploaders involved with this type of content, believes the Big N could be changing its ways. Ad earnings on one of his videos stopped on May 14, but resumed a little over a week later.

Kotaku actually asked Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime about the situation at E3 2013. He said:

“We love our fans. We appreciate everything that our fans do. We had to take this formal step to be very clear about our IP.”

Reggie added, “the fans need to understand that we see the issue, we understand the issue, but, right now, all we’ve done is take the first step to protect our IP.”

Nintendo is obviously allowed to do what it sees fit with its IP, but backing off “Let’s Play” videos may be for the best.

We’re hearing rumblings of two 3DS announcements in this week’s Famitsu. The magazine has supposedly revealed that a Nobunaga’s Ambition game and Romance of the Three Kingdoms title are coming to the handheld, courtesy of Tecmo Koei. Details haven’t leaked out yet, and I’m slightly skeptical of the report, so take this update with a grain of salt for the time being.

Rumor has it that Nintendo Network ID functionality will be expanded to the 3DS. News about the account system, as well as Hulu support for the platform, is allegedly due later this year.

The speculation comes from Emily Rogers, who has maintained a fairly decent track record when it comes to Nintendo rumors.

Rogers tweeted a short while ago:

The Wii U currently incorporates a Nintendo Network ID, which connects to the Nintendo Network. It is used for Miiverse and friend mechanics.

Four Wii U games from E3 2013 will be playable at various Best Buy locations in the US and Canada this week. Nintendo hasn’t said which titles are heading to the retailer, but Reggie Fils-Aime will make the list official on Tuesday.

An alleged Best Buy flyer may have confirmed the lineup a couple of days early. New Super Luigi U, Pikmin 3, The Wonderful 101, and The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD are said to be playable.

Assuming the flyer above is spot on, fans may be slightly disappointed. Mario’s 3D Wii U outing and Mario Kart Wii U won’t be brought to Best Buy if true.

Update: Brought to the top of the page. Here’s the latest…

So just some kind of promotional thing on Harada’s part? He doesn’t appear to be missing at this point…

Something strange is going on with Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada. A tweet from Harada’s official Twitter account, published by the “Tekken project support team”, states that he “has been missing from office since a week ago.” The tweet continues: “We are still searching for him.”

So what’s going on here? Is something truly up with Harada? His last tweet was on May 26 – quite a long time ago.

I’m assuming that this isn’t a joke of some sort, but you never know. I just hope Harada is alright!
