BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle

On November 21, BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle is getting a new 2.0 update. On the same day, players will be able to purchase a content pack containing nine new playable characters and more. So far, four have been announced: Yumi from Senran Kagura: Estival Versus, Blitztank from Akatsuki Blitzkampf, Akatsuki from Akatsuki Blitzkampf, Neo Politan from RWBY.

Arc System Works will soon be unveiling the five remaining characters. A new BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle DLC trailer will debut during the Arc Nama SP live stream on September 22 at 11:00 Japan time, the company has confirmed.

The live stream will be held in the regular places. Fans can watch the event as it happens on YouTube, Twitch, and Niconico.

At Evo 2019 later today, Arc System Works is expected to debut a new trailer for BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle. The video was leaked online, and although it has since been pulled, some major information is floating around online.

We’ll be sharing details from the video below. If you don’t want to be spoiled in any way, please don’t proceed beyond this point.

It didn’t take dataminers to get to work on BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle’s latest update. Version 1.5 added new characters and featured balance adjustments, but some additional content was included behind-the-scenes.

After examining the game’s files, audio announcer lines have apparently been spotted for 75 characters who aren’t on the roster on present. Characters from BlazBlue, Persona 4 Arena, Under Night In-Birth, RWBY, and Arcana Heart were recorded along with two series that not represented in the game.

Arc System Works has officially announced that the Version 1.5 update — which also adds the next wave of DLC characters — will launch on May 21st.

As noted previously, the update will introduce balance changes that will make the game identical to the arcade version. Characters included are Naoto Kurogane, Teddie, Seth, and Heart Aino. They will be available for free to those that have previously purchased all character packs.

Arc System Works has confirmed that the next major update for BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle will launch sometime in mid-May, bringing the game up to Version 1.5 and adding the recently revealed DLC characters.

This update is set to follow the release of the arcade version in Japan at the end of April. As such, the update will include all of the balance changes that will be present in the arcade version. As previously reported, BlazBlue: Central Fiction’s Naoto Kurogane, Under Night In-Birth’s Seth, Persona 4 Arena’s Teddy, and Arcana Heart 3’s Heart Aino will all be added at the same time.
