Mario & Luigi: Brothership is home to 29 different challenges. Most of them are easy, and involve simply getting an Excellent on each Bros. Move 30 times. One of them in particular, however, is not easy: the Do It Yourself challenge. For this one, you have to defeat 300 enemies without using wear or accessories. You can use Boots and Hammer equipment, to be clear, but nothing else.

Other than the obvious 300 enemy count being a hindrance, there’s another problem with the Do It Yourself challenge: after a certain point in the story, it becomes more difficult to find weak enemies. We’ll explain why in a moment, but if you want to avoid spoilers, you may want to return later. In the meantime, an important word of advice: wherever you are in the story right now, we’d recommend starting to work on this challenge. It gets tougher if you clear the main story first!

Today, we’re looking at Monster Mania 4, one of the tougher side quests found in Mario & Luigi: Brothership. In fact, the entire Monster Mania line of side quests is on the more difficult end of challenges you’ll find in the game. Monster Mania 1 and 2 both require some extra strategy, while Monster Mania 3 is unexpectedly easier. Monster Mania 4, however, is right back to challenging with a group of Bob-ombs that knock you out in one hit.

Today, we’re looking at Dueling Geniuses, which is one of the later missable side quests you will take on in Mario & Luigi: Brothership. It’s at the very end of the game, somewhere around 35 hours in. Given that this side quest takes place near the final boss and ending, you may want to bookmark this page and come back later to avoid potential story spoilers.

Amiibo 10 Year Anniversary

This Thursday, November 21, marked a momentous occasion – the ten-year anniversary of amiibo, Nintendo’s beloved lineup of figurines and cards. Over the years, Nintendo has released over 200 unique figures and – if you count all the Animal Crossing cards – well over 800 amiibo in total. Given the recent news that the Nintendo Switch successor will include backwards compatibility with Switch software (and therefore amiibo functionality), it seems Nintendo is keen to continue increasing this number as the years go by. So today, we’re looking at the past, present, and future of amiibo figures, starting from its very beginning on this day ten years ago.

Today, we’re looking at Technikki’s Past, the second-to-last missable side quest in Mario & Luigi: Brothership. This quest doesn’t come about until much later in the game – we only unlocked it at around 25 hours in, for instance. Given how late in the game this quest comes up, there are some spoilers involving what parts of the game you’ll need to have cleared before you can unlock it. If you’re looking to avoid all spoilers, then feel free to bookmark this post and come back later.

Fear of Glohm side quest

Today, we’re looking at Fear of Glohm, another missable side quest in Mario & Luigi: Brothership. After clearing a certain icy island (which we won’t specify by name until later in the post, for those of you avoiding spoilers), you’ll unlock two side quests: Fear of Glohm and A Big Debate, the latter of which being incredibly easy to clear. Both of these side quests are missable, and of the two, Fear of Glohm is a bit more involved.

monster mania 2 Mario Luigi Brothership

Today, we’re looking at Monster Mania 2, the second in a series of rather challenging side quests in Mario & Luigi: Brothership. Whereas the first of these quests pits you against a group of nearly-invincible Krodes, this one sees you fighting a group of Hydro Seedles with high HP and the ability to completely restore their health in a single turn. There’s certainly a trick to getting through this one, and the key will be to use abilities you’ll have unlocked very recently.

Best Nintendo 3DS model 2024

Throughout its lifespan, Nintendo released a lot of different 3DS models. You had the original 3DS, 3DS XL, New 3DS, New 3DS XL, the standard 2DS, and New 2DS XL – and that’s not even counting all the special editions of each individual console. With Nintendo’s next hardware on the horizon, we figure today is as good a day as any to go over all of the major 3DS revisions and determine which one is the best.

The Switch is certainly Nintendo’s most popular console, but the 3DS has seen something of a small resurgence lately. This is in spite of its online play shutting down earlier this year – indeed, a fair number of players are either discovering the 3DS’ library for the first time, or reliving their nostalgia from over ten years ago.

monster mania 1 side quest Mario Luigi Brothership

Today, we’re looking at Monster Mania 1, which is one of the standard side quests in Mario & Luigi: Brothership. Unlike other side quests we’ve reported on, this one is not missable and will remain available throughout the game’s main story. That being said, you might find it a little bit difficult if you don’t know what to do ahead of time. For this one, you need to take out three Krodes with ultra-high defense. Fortunately, there’s an easy solution to defeating them quickly with the help of Battle Plugs, a mechanic you’ll have been introduced to by the time you can take on this quest.
