Mario Kart World Knockout Tour guide

Today, we’re going over some tips and strategies on how to more easily win in Mario Kart World’s new Knockout Tour mode.

In order to unlock all the content Mario Kart World has to offer, you’ll have to earn 3 stars on every single cup in both Grand Prix and Knockout Tour. We’ve already covered tricks for Grand Prix via our corresponding guide, but today we’re focusing on strategies that apply specifically to Knockout Tour. Compared to Grand Prix mode, Knockout Tour places a much higher emphasis on straight pathways – which means the Speed stat is incredibly important here.

Mario Kart World Grand Prix guide

Today, we’re going over some tips and tricks on how to more easily win in Mario Kart World’s Grand Prix mode with a new guide.

Mario Kart World is available now on Nintendo Switch 2, and players have noticed that Grand Prix mode isn’t quite as easy this time around. One of the game’s main goals is to earn three stars on every Grand Prix cup on 150cc – when you do that, the 50cc and 100cc automatically earn gold stars even if you’ve never played them. That being said, the CPUs on 150cc are particularly challenging. They’re fast, they drift, they take shortcuts, and they wait until the best moment to use powerful items. This makes 150cc Grand Prix races surprisingly challenging – much more so than previous titles in the series (or at least recent ones).

Mario Kart World unlockable outfits list

One of the big new features in Mario Kart World is the ability to unlock outfits for different characters. Most of the drivers in this game have plenty of costumes choose from – with the exception of Donkey Kong and Pauline, who only have one outfit each. Furthermore, some drivers, like Wiggler, Nabbit, and all of the minion characters, are designated as NPC drivers. This means that they don’t have any costumes to choose from at all.

Mario Kart World Review

System: Switch 2
Release date: June 5, 2025
Developer: Nintendo
Publisher: Nintendo

Nintendo Switch 2 is finally here, and with it comes the first new main series Mario Kart game since Mario Kart 8 on Wii U way back in 2014. Mario Kart World promises to be the next evolution of the franchise, boasting a huge world for players to explore. For the most part, this feels like more of a novelty than a huge step forward – but it’s an added bonus in a game packed with content and attention to detail. Mario Kart World is truly a remarkable masterwork of graphics, music, details, and gameplay – and it’s one you should absolutely try out if you’re planning on getting a Nintendo Switch 2 (and are either okay with the price tag or are purchasing the bundle).

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet 7 Star Porygon2 Guide

To celebrate the launch of Nintendo Switch 2, the 7 Star Porygon2 Tera Raid Battle event for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is live now. It’s fairly easy as far as 7-Star Raids go, but we’ve written a guide with potential checks and counters regardless. The event runs from now until June 16 alongside Porygon2 outbreaks with a boosted Shiny chance. This Porygon2 is Tera Normal, which only leaves it weak to Fighting-type attacks.

Mario Kart World unlockable characters list

With Mario Kart World now available on Nintendo Switch 2, we’ve put together a guide on how to obtain each of its hidden unlockable characters with a list.

At launch, there are six main characters to unlock (main meaning they have additional costumes) and 18 NPC drivers to unlock (who do not have additional costumes). Mario Kart World’s day one patch unlocks a few additional NPC drivers from the start, so if you see some of the characters below already unlocked, that’s why.

After over ten long years, the future of Mario Kart is finally here. Indeed, the gap between Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart World has been the longest in the franchise’s history. Sure, we received Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Mario Kart Tour, and Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit, but none of these were intended to be the next big Mario Kart game. Mario Kart World is exactly that, and with a new era for the series soon beginning, we figured it’s a great time to look at the development history of the Mario Kart franchise as a whole. There’s an absolutely huge amount of information here, so we’ll be telling the condensed version of Mario Kart’s history.

Nintendo Switch 2 has a strong set of first-year titles: Mario Kart World, Kirby Air Riders, and Donkey Kong Bananza are all confirmed to launch sometime this year (plus Nintendo Switch 2 Editions for Pokemon Legends: Z-A and Metroid Prime 4: Beyond). But what about Nintendo’s other franchises? Today, we’re looking at possible time frames for the next game in every major Nintendo franchise.

When it comes to game rankings, the Paper Mario series has always been rather defined in terms of which games are “good” and “bad”. There are three main eras of Paper Mario games: the first three games (64, The Thousand-Year Door, and Super), the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS titles (Sticker Star and Color Splash), and whichever era we’re in now (The Thousand-Year Door Nintendo Switch version). Given the amount of love and care that was put into The Thousand-Year Door remaster and how positively it was received both after its announcement and after its release, we think the future of the Paper Mario series is bright. And while we wait patiently for the next new game in the series, we’ve ranked all six Paper Mario games from worst to best. Do keep in mind that this is a subjective list, however, and we’d love to hear your thoughts and rankings for the Paper Mario games down below.

Mario Kart World unrevealed secrets

Ever since its official reveal at the big Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, Mario Kart World has been met with a mostly positive reception. That’s regarding the game itself, by the way – not so much the $80 price tag. With all that said, some players are wondering if Mario Kart World has hidden characters or tracks that weren’t revealed in any of the pre-release material. While we don’t exactly believe that’s the case, we’re absolutely open to being proved wrong. The more content, the better! Here’s why we think Nintendo has shown most of Mario Kart World’s content (hypothetical updates and DLC aside).
