Bad Kirby games

If you’re deep into the Nintendo discourse sphere online, you might sometimes hear people say “Kirby has no bad games”. And to an extent, that’s definitely true – Kirby’s highs and lows aren’t as far apart compared to other Nintendo franchises. But is it really true that Kirby doesn’t have any bad games? A “bad game” could mean something different depending on who you talk to. It could mean that the game isn’t fun to play, or it could mean that the game is poor by Kirby standards, but not terrible objectively.

Regardless, today we’re looking at some of the less-loved entries in the Kirby series to see how they hold up today. One thing is true: Kirby doesn’t have any bad main series games. Even Kirby Star Allies, which is regarded as one of the weaker recent titles, isn’t bad – it’s inoffensive at worst. In other words, the Kirby games we’re talking about today aren’t main series games, but the smaller ones that tend to fly under the radar.

Zelda Echoes of Wisdom lore

The Legend of Zelda series is well-known for its rather convoluted timeline, and by extension, there’s a lot of interest in lore. Every time a new game in the series is released, fans get to work right away in trying to determine where on the timeline it may fall. For Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, this was an incredibly difficult task – the co-existence of Rito and Zora, for instance, makes it tough to find a specific placement for these two games. Previously, Nintendo shared an official timeline showing Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom are completely separate. Echoes of Wisdom is now the newest game in the series, and there’s official confirmation that it’s part of the downfall timeline.

Today, we’re discussing the lore Echoes of Wisdom adds to the series, plus where it might be located on the timeline. Do keep in mind that we’ll be discussing heavy spoilers, so keep that in mind before moving forward.

A few months back, we examined the launch of almost every major Nintendo console. That was before we knew about Nintendo Switch 2 or any of its games, though – and now that we know just about everything regarding the system’s launch this June, we’re going to compare it to some of Nintendo’s previous console launches and see how it holds up.

There have been some scattered claims going around lately saying that Nintendo is phasing out Diddy Kong, for one reason or another. If you have no idea what we’re talking about, that’s completely understandable. This claim is mostly attributed to the dormancy of the Donkey Kong franchise during the Nintendo Switch era – indeed, the only two DK games released there were Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and Donkey Kong Country Returns HD – both ports. Combine this with Diddy Kong’s absence from prominent Mario spin-off games like Mario Party and Mario Golf, and you can (sort of) see how claims like these surfaced. We don’t think it’s true, however – just because Diddy Kong hasn’t appeared very often lately doesn’t mean Nintendo is throwing him by the wayside. So today, we’re analyzing all of his recent game and media appearances to explain why he isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

More worst Shiny Pokemon

A few months back, we covered some of the worst Shiny Pokemon of all time. Most of the time, they’re considered poor because they’re barely different from the original. But we only listed about 20 Shiny Pokemon there, and today we’ve got a fresh batch of even more horrible Shiny Pokemon. This is a subjective list, of course, but we’ll try to keep it as objective as possible – especially in cases where the Shiny form looks almost identical to the original.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet 7 Star Salamence Guide

The 7 Star Salamence Tera Raid Battle event for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is live now, and we’ve written a guide full of potential checks and counters. The event continues from now until April 20, and then comes back between April 25 and 27. This Salamence is Tera Flying, so you’ll need to bring Pokemon who can somehow withstand its numerous offensive type coverage options. If you’re looking to take down this powerful foe, have a look at our tips and strategies down below.

Switch Online Gamecube Predictions

Today, we’re going over a bunch of popular GameCube games and how likely they are to come to Nintendo Switch Online on Nintendo Switch 2.

In somewhat of a surprise move, Nintendo recently announced that titles from that console are coming to Switch Online + Expansion Pack members exclusively on Switch 2. The reason this is surprising is that GameCube games on the service sort of run counter to Nintendo’s strategy with GameCube games on the current Switch. Up until now, Nintendo has been content to release individually-packaged GameCube games as standalone titles – or remake them altogether. Pikmin 1, Pikmin 2, Metroid Prime, and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door are all playable on Nintendo Switch already. That may knock out quite a few titles from Nintendo Switch Online, though it’s technically still possible that they could get a release later.

Donkey Kong Game Boy Review

Just a few weeks back, Nintendo added Donkey Kong to the Game Boy division of Nintendo Switch Online for the first time. It was previously available on the 3DS’ Virtual Console back in 2011, and it’s taken well over ten years for us to see the game again. Every time Nintendo has released or re-released Donkey Kong for the Game Boy, it’s pretty much flown under the radar despite including some of their most iconic characters. So today, we’re taking a look at what makes this game so fun even in the modern day. It’s aged very well!

Mario Kart World All Characters List

Ahead of the Mario Kart World Direct on April 17, we’ve gathered up a list of every character confirmed for the game, both new and old. It’s important to note that characters do have different outfits to wear this time around, though it appears they may be tied to course items rather than chosen on character select.

Mario Kart World was recently announced at the big Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, and one of its defining features is a heaping pile of new racers – and the new additions are both perplexing and entertaining.

Nintendo Selects Switch

With Nintendo Switch 2’s big presentation not too far from now, we’re on the verge of a brand-new console generation. And this one is confirmed to have backwards compatibility with existing Nintendo Switch games, which means there will be a huge library of games to play on the new system immediately – even if they’re not all new. We’d expect sales for standard Nintendo Switch software would start to fall off after a few years of the Switch 2 being out. This means it would be an absolutely perfect time to bring back the Nintendo Selects line, which we saw on 3DS and Wii U for several first-party titles.
