Tetris 99 announces Maximus Cups with WarioWare: Move It, Super Mario Bros. Wonder themes

November 27: Tetris 99 is celebrating another recent Switch launch, this time with the 37th Maximus Cup which includes the opportunity to earn a WarioWare: Move It theme.
To get involved, play the online mode and earn points. Points are handed out based on your placement in each match. The theme will be yours once 100 points are obtained. The WarioWare: Move It theme for Tetris 99 features background art, music, and Tetrimino designs inspired by the game.

Capcom aware of interest in Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth collection, but no announcements to share

Capcom has acknowledged fan interest in an Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth collection that would contain the second game which has never released outside of Japan. However, it’s not comitting to anything official at this time.
Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth ended up launching on DS worldwide. However, Ace Attorney Investigations 2 never left Japan. It’s one of the rare games in the series that has yet to be localized.
Sonic Superstars receives free holiday costume

SEGA is sharing a little bonus with Sonic Superstars players today, as the game has now made a holiday costume available which is very easy to unlock.
The outfit contains new apparel for Sonic to wear and bring cheer and joy to the Northstar Islands. To unlock the holiday costume in Sonic Superstars, choose Sonic in character selection and then press the left or right button when playing Story Mode. It’s totally free on Switch and other platforms.

Terra Nil confirmed for Switch

Publisher Devolver Digital and developer Free Lives are bringing Terra Nil to Switch, the two sides just confirmed. This version is actually only a week out with the release scheduled for December 18, 2023.
Terra Nil is an ecological strategy game about using advanced eco-tech to transform a barren, desolate wasteland into a thriving, vibrant ecosystem. More information can be found in the following overview:

The Super Mario Bros. Movie has picked up a few nominations for the 2024 Golden Globes, including Best Animated Film.
Nintendo and Illumination’s project will be battling it out against five other movies. The Boy and the Heron, Elemental, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Suzume, and Wish are also nominated.

LEGO Bricktales gains 2023 holiday update

A new free holiday 2023 update has landed in LEGO Bricktales.
The update takes players on a journey into a snow-covered landscape. Thunderful teases: “Santa has a problem making his deliveries in time for the big day, and the player will need to use all of their building skills to help save Christmas!”

Zelda producer on fans who say they miss the series’ more linear games

Starting with Breath of the Wild, The Legend of Zelda has moved away from the linear and traditional 3D games fans had been accustomed to since Ocarina of Time. The series is now focusing on “open air” experiences with a huge world to explore and with much more freedom. Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom have done well from both in terms of sales and reception, though some fans miss what came before.
Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma has now responded to some of those discussions as part of an interview with IGN. Here’s what Aonuma shared when asked how he feels about those who miss linear Zelda given where the series is at now:

No Man’s Sky “Holiday 2023 Expeditions” update out now (version 4.46), patch notes

Hello Games has put out one last update for No Man’s Sky to end 2023, and players can now access “Holiday 2023 Expeditions” – or version 4.46.
Expeditions are happening in new sections of the universe, “offering explorers another opportunity to experience these stories and events and earn exclusive rewards.” Players can also find community favorite Cartographers from 2021 as a limited run. We also have to mention that Hello Games has made even more visual improvements for the Switch version.
