Tobla: Divine Path

Publisher Rokaplay and developer Nementic Games will release Tobla: Divine Path on Switch, both companies announced today. It’s due out on November 4, 2024.

Tobla: Divine Path is a puzzle adventure game with a first-person perspective. You’ll play as a mortal chosen by a goddess who that’s attempting to get back home. 

Bakeru physical west

Spike Chunsoft is preparing a physical release for Bakeru in the west, the company announced today. It’s due out on February 25, 2024 in both North America and Europe.

The physical release of Bakeru on Switch appears to be limited to a standard edition. As of now Spike Chunsoft hasn’t indicated there are plans for special editions.

The latest UK software sales chart for the week ending October 5, 2024 is now available.

Just like last week, Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is at #2 – so the game is holding on strong. EA Sports FC 25 is again at the top. SpongeBob SquarePants: The Patrick Star was a new release, but it’s coming slow out of the gate having appeared all the way down at #39.

Montezuma's Revenge: The 40th Anniversary Edition

Montezuma’s Revenge: The 40th Anniversary Edition is now in development for Switch, Eastasiasoft announced today in partnership with developers Mission Critical Studios, Handcrafted Mystical Games, and Normal Distribution. The game launches in 2025.

Montezuma’s Revenge: The 40th Anniversary Edition brings back the classic platforming adventure as a 2.5D remake with widescreen HD. Additionally, the game to 100 rooms, the total that was originally intended, but now the timeless classic has been updated.

Great God Grove

Great God Grove is heading to Switch, publisher Fellow Traveller and developer LimboLane confirmed today. A release is scheduled for November 15, 2024.

Great God Grov, a psychedelic adventure puzzle game, is made by the studio behind Slime For Me. After the god of communication goes missing, you’ll take on the role of the mail carrier in a world of humans and deities to save the day.

After August didn’t have any Nintendo games in the top ten, Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom does manage to appear. It’s at #10, and remember it was a late launch and no digital data is included. EA Sports FC 25 tops the chart and Hogwarts Legacy is hanging on.

Massi

Ratalaika Games and Farid Iberraken are teaming up on a Switch version of Massi, they revealed today. The game launches tomorrow, October 8.

Massi is a retro-style platformer in which players look to reclaim their lost kingdom. The game features combat, exploration, tight controls, puzzle solving, and tough boss fights. 

Here’s some additional information:

July 1: Nintendo recently filed a pair of lawsuits against individuals who the company believes facilitated piracy on Switch. Torrent Freak reported on the findings.

In the first lawsuit, Modded Hardware is accused of violating the DMCA by selling mod chips and MIG devices. Modded consoles with pirated games were apparently shipped as well. While Nintendo originally reached out to owner Ryan Daly with a lawsuit threat and it was agreed that unlawful activity would cease, Modded Hardware continued on. Daly eventually said he was looking for a new lawyer, but Nintendo wouldn’t wait any further and filed a proper lawsuit.


Monolith Soft R&D team engine

As shared in a new interview published today, Xenoblade developer Monolith Soft has not only set up a new R&D division, but is also expanding its game engine.

CCO and director Tetsuya Takahashi has been in charge of overseeing the R&D team for roughly a year. Xenoblade lead programmer Michihiko Inaba is the group’s producer and director.

Speaking about the need for an R&D team with CGWorld, Takashi shared the following (rough translation):
