Fractured Soul 3D details

Posted on 12 years ago by (@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 0 comments

In March, we mentioned some of the crazy, behind-the-scenes happenings to Fractured Soul. What was once a 2D platformer for the DS soon landed on the 3DS with no publisher.

Endgame Studios was able to retain rights to the 3D version, and it seems as though they will indeed bring it to the eShop this summer. You can find details about the game below.

– Two screens used to show different version of a stage running in parallel
– Neither screen can be traversed in their entirety
– Each contains dead ends and gaps
– Go back and forth from one screen tot he next
– Progress from the left end of the stage to the right
– Encounter robotic enemies
– Don’t fall through the bottom of the level
– Have to deal with gravity
– Combine jumping and screen transfer abilities to avoid getting killed by some enemies
– Series of worlds in the game
– Each world applies a different effect to the top screen
– Water-based stages: buoyancy, less maneuverability
– Fire-based stages: limits amount of time player can spend on the top screen by slowly draining health
– Another world reverses gravity

North America has gone many, many weeks without a 3DS Virtual Console game. That’s in spite of the fact that there are plenty of titles releasing in Japan, and a decent amount have been available in Europe.

What does Nintendo of America have to say about the situation? Not much. The company’s response to the dearth of 3DS VC games wasn’t really a response of all.

NOA said in a statement:

“Each week Nintendo makes available a mix of Nintendo eShop, Virtual Console, WiiWare and Nintendo DSiWare games. Combined, these services currently provide gamers with hundreds of fun and interesting downloadable games to choose from. There is no preset schedule as to how many games will become available in a given week, but many more are on the way via all of these digital-delivery systems.”

The drought will finally be coming to an end this Thursday with Kirby’s Block Ball.
