Tekken was one of the few original projects announced for Wii U back in June. Even so, development is still in a very early state.

Tekken producer Katushiro Harada recently said that “the core members aren’t really assigned” to the Wii U title just yet. An “advanced technology” group is, at the moment, “evaluating the hardware and the specs, and what would be necessary to create a Tekken” for the console.

“[Laughs] For Wii U, at the moment, the core members aren’t really assigned to that yet. We have a different group outside the Tekken Project within our company that works on advanced technology. So that section is currently evaluating the hardware and the specs, and what would be necessary to create a Tekken on [Wii U]. Once their evaluation and research is done, they’ll kick it to us and we’ll start laying out the specs for that. But we’re not at that point yet.”

Is the 3DS Circle Pad attachment officially called the “slider pad”? That seems to be the case, as Nintendo of Europe provided that name in the Resident Evil: Revelations launch date announcement.

Here’s the relevant information from the press release:

“The game is also compatible with the new slider pad, a second circle pad with two more shoulder buttons, enabling you to interact with the environments in new ways.”

Okay… this is rather neat. Nintendo is asking fans in Europe who have a copy of Xenoblade Chronicles to make a “Let’s Play” video of the game. You can participate by uploading your video here.

What’s the prize, you ask? First place: A copy of The Last Story and Pandora’s Tower. Four runner-ups can choose either game of their choice.

You have until October 18. I’ve included the official PR below.
