The new Wii model that was announced earlier today will be a Europe-specific release according to Nintendo. A representative told Kotaku that “does not currently have any plans” to make it available stateside.
I’d say that this is probably for the best. I personally use my GameCube controllers to do this day and even play some of the system’s old games every so often!

New Wii Bundle announced with Wii Sports, Wii Party and newly configured Wii (Europe)
Posted on 13 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii | 0 comments
August 17th, 2011 ā As the summer draws to a close and Christmas starts to glimmer around the corner, get ready to have some fun and games with your friends and family. From October you will be able to pick up a new value Wii bundle, which includes a newly configured Wii console with Wii Sports and Wii Party ā a perfect family present this Christmas.
With more than 80 fun and hilarious mini-games, Wii Party will bring a lively atmosphere into any living room. Play with up to four Wii Remote controllers and enjoy putting your very own personalised Mii character at the heart of the action like never before. Compete or co-operate in 13 different game modes and, for the first time, take the action out of the television screen as the House Party mode turns your living room into a pivotal part of the game play. For example, search under the sofa or behind the bookcase for the hidden Wii Remote controllers in the Hide ānā Hunt game or be careful not to be the last player holding the Wii Remote in Time Bomb. Wii Party also includes Pair Games and Party Games modes – both of which keep the varied challenges coming thick and fast as you play with fellow friends and family.
