This information comes from Reggie Fils-Aime, President and COO of Nintendo of America, on the latest episode of GameTrailers TV…

“You mentioned Zelda, we haven’t committed to Zelda for 2010. That’s what he (Miyamoto hoping to release the game next year) said. So we’ll see how that continues to develop.”

For some reason, I just don’t see Zelda Wii coming out next year. We’ll already have seen two huge Nintendo games – Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Metroid: Other M. Besides, Nintendo has delayed their last few Zelda titles quite often.

Warning: There are spoilers below!

Since its announcement, we’ve all known that the Phantom in The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks will assist you in defeating enemies and completing goals. However, the actual mystery behind the Phantom has been revealed. In the beginning of the game, Princess Zelda turns into a ghost. In one scene, the Phantom is about to attack Link, but Zelda, in her ghost form, takes over its body and from that point on aids Link in his journey. It is a bit unexpected, and this is certainly Zelda’s most involved role in the series thus far.

Over the past few days, there have been a few predictions made about the sales of New Super Mario Bros. Wii. Not too long ago, Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter stated that “it’s gonna shock you how many units” New Super Mario Bros. Wii. GameStop is also anticipating that the title will be a huge success. Tony Bartel, Executive VP of Merchandising and Marketing for GameStop, noted earlier this week that “it’s going to be a strong seller for the holiday.” Reggie Fils-Aime, President and COO of Nintendo of America, offered his own thoughts about Mario Bros. Wii’s sales on the latest episode of GameTrailers TV and said that it will outperform Modern Warfare 2 on one system by the time the January 2010 NPD data rolls by.

“Modern Warfare 2 is on two platforms. On a single platform, absolutely. I say that unequivocally. On one particular platform, I do believe so. You’ve got to give me the entire holiday selling season, so let’s take it all the way through the January NPD data. It’s going to be close. Modern Warfare is a a great title. As a gamer, I look forward to it. The new Modern Warfare, I think is going to be a fantastic title. Not to discount it, it will sell well. Of course I’ll play it. I play all the content out there.”

Within our own world, a new frontier awaits…

IRVINE, CALIFORNIA – NOVEMBER 5, 2009 – Atlus U.S.A., Inc. today announced Shin Megami Tensei®: Strange Journey™, a first-person science fiction RPG for Nintendo DS™. A startlingly original entry in the award-winning Shin Megami Tensei universe, Strange Journey takes the heralded RPG franchise to exciting new frontiers. The game has already released in Japan to strong demand and critical acclaim, earning a 10/9/9/8 from Famitsu, the highest score the popular magazine has ever awarded a Shin Megami Tensei title.

In the near future, a mysterious, growing, black void appears at the Earth’s southern pole. Unable to determine its cause and powerless to stop its deadly encroachment, humanity sends an elite team of explorers into the heart of the phenomenon, just as Strange Journey’s look and feel represent a return to the heart of Shin Megami Tensei, bringing to mind the all-time classic Nocturne™. With over 300 demons to bribe, coerce, and negotiate with to gain assistance in battle, Strange Journey is every bit the deep, rewarding RPG experience fans have come to expect from the SMT franchise, yet delivered with a fresh new sci-fi story that taps into mature themes of morality and introspection.
