Most gamers probably aren’t aware that Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Bill Nye the Science Guy have a little something in common. As it turns out, they both featured the same announcer. Pat Cashman was the announcer for Bill Nye the Science Guy and appeared in sketches as well. Today, gamers can hear Cashman’s voicework in Brawl when he calls out the names of Nintendo characters and counts down to battle.

Update: Added slightly higher-quality footage (or you can try this link, thanks Thomas N!)

I realize this is brief, but it’s better than nothing, right?! This is indeed the first footage of Pokemon Black/White from Pokemon Sunday. Also, we’ll be uploading a better-quality video when the footage is available.

Update: Game night is over! Thanks for playing!

Ladies and gentlemen, I regret to inform that though we had many people give their Mario Kart friend codes, not too many of them confirmed that they’d be playing tonight. Additionally, a lot of people had to drop out due to not having the game with them, or for other reasons, but they’ll be back next week. For a test run of the idea, I’m happy with the group we’ve assembled!

Name: Ronin180
FC: 2449-8125-6701
Name: Alex L
Friend Code: 3866 8427 4129
Name: Valay
Friend Code: 2921-9485-4731
Name: Jack
Friend Code: 2965 6583 5641

We’ve got at least 2 more people coming in later (myself being one of them, but I’ve gotta get to the house I’ll be playing at before I can give you my code!), but I wanted to get this up as soon as possible so people are ready! You still have time to squeeze into this group, but I know some people are bringing guests so it could fill up. If you’re playing, add all these codes, and remember that the games begin at 7PM CST, with the room being hosted by me! I’ll do a final update with a link to the IRC chat so we can all talk, but until then things should stay quiet!

In 2009, a forum member on Vandal Online claimed to have information about the next Resident Evil title for Wii. When the message was posted, the game supposedly had been in development for more than a year. According to the “insider”, it would be a spin-off, but it would feature a mix of third-person exploration/tension elements and on-rails shooting segments.

Fast-forward a few months later (Thursday) and another member says that the game was at Captivate this past week. Obviously, none of this means anything until we receive a confirmation. There is a small amount of credibility to the rumor, however, as the information comes from the same person who leaked details about Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles. It should also be noted that Capcom recently said that the company has unannounced games in the works for the Wii/DS and that fans should look out for Captivate for announcements. Oh, and there’s apparently a big announcement coming this month. But, still, I repeat what I said earlier – Take this as a huge grain of salt until next week.

Earlier today, Nintendo unveiled Cloud Mario, a brand new power-up that will be available in certain Super Mario Galaxy 2 levels. Strangely, no details were provided as to how it will work. Japanese retailer Neowing, however, states that players will be able to build clouds up and use them as platforms. I suppose that makes sense based on the concept art we’ve seen. We’re still waiting to hear about the actual control implementation for Cloud Mario, but I’m sure Nintendo will share additional information in the coming weeks.
