In a recent interview with IGN’s Mark Bozon, game developer and creator of No More Heroes Goichi Suda revealed a few new details on the upcoming No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle, including details on the new 2D minigames that will be replacing the odd jobs in the first game.

“You’ll see around 10 2D mini-games in No More Heroes 2, and they’ll all be done in the retro 2D, 8-bit style. I thought that’d be a fun way to re-imagine them. If you want to play them though so far you need to actually go to the areas in the story mode, and I’m not sure yet if I’ll include them as any separate challenge mode. So far they’re contained only in the story mode.” – Suda51

Also in the interview he talked briefly about the new bosses in the game, including details regarding Nathan Capran.

“Well for now I have to keep it to only a few bosses. Definitely you should expect more bosses than in No More Heroes one though. At PAX we had a demo where you were fighting Nathan Capran, and what I can tell you is a little info about his origin. Originally he was created during No More Heroes, and I was thinking about him as a potential boss, but there wasn’t really room to fit him into the story, so we decided to hold off. But I still wanted to see how he’d fit into the No More Heroes world, so once the sequel was decided on I absolutely wanted to get him into the game. That’s how we got the boss everyone saw at PAX, and unfortunately I’ll have to hold off on other talks at this time.” – Suda51

Wii Play Record

Every follower of the video game industry knows that Wii Play was one of the highest selling games of all time in terms of its first year sales, but how high is that relative to the rest of the industry? Apparently pretty high, as the game has been featured in the Scholastic Book of World Records for best selling video game. Just another title to add to the Wii’s every growing list of records…

Earthworm Jim!

– Level from the special edition to be included,
– Game code being reworked to allow new features like difficulty levels and online leaderboards.
– Will include “Big Bruty” stage from the Sega CD and PC versions of the game.
– Wii version being handled by a different studio, but the graphics are being optimized for its lower resolution.

The latest LEVEL review scores (Swedish magazine) are as follows:

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves: 10
Need for Speed: Shift: 8
Halo: ODST: 8
FIFA 10: 9
Scribblenauts: 7
Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games: 5
Metroid Prime Trilogy: 9

Gran Turismo (PSP): 8
NHL 10: 8
Dead Space: Extraction: 7

Wet: 7
Contra Rebirth: 8
NBA Live 10: 6

Motorstorm: Artic Edge: 7
Colin McRae Dirt 2: 9

Consider the following scenario: You purchased a DSi on launch day. Then you bought a new DSi because it featured your favorite color. Now here’s the problem: You downloaded a bunch of DSiWare titles on your original system, but because of the most recent DSi you purchased, you are interested in playing those games on the new DSi.

Unfortunately, Nintendo of Australia is not willing to transfer titles between handhelds. The only way the request can be fulfilled is if a broken DSi is involved. You would also need to send in both systems. There’s no word yet if Nintendo of America and Europe maintain the same policy, although it’s more than likely that those Nintendo divisions would operate in a similar fashion.
