Favorable Financial Results for the 1st Quarter ended June 30, 2009!
19.2% increase in Net Sales, 23.0% increase in Operating Income compared to previous term
– Marked the best net sales, operating income and ordinary income since quarterly release announcements began –
Capcom Co., Ltd. is pleased to announce that net sales increased to 19,497 million yen (up 19.2% from the same term last year), operating income increased to 3,664 million yen (up 23.0% from the same term last year) and ordinary income increased to 4,117 million yen (up 2.3% from the same term last year) in consolidated financial results for the 1st Quarter ended June 30, 2009.

The first concept art of Epic Mickey was leaked yesterday, in addition to a small nugget of information that the game is being developed for Wii. Now not only has that detail been confirmed, but there there are additional gameplay and story details that have been released.
– Paint through levels
– Use Wii controller to paint
– This involves drawing, etching, erasing (some or all parts of a level)
– Story based on very old/forgotten Disney characters
– Those characters wish to take revenge of Mickey, perhaps because they are jealous of him

New Nintendo DS Game Unearths Fossil-Themed Excitement at World-Famous La Brea Tar Pits

Already a world-famous destination for prehistoric discovery, L.A.’s La Brea Tar Pits will be the site of an extraordinary entertainment find as Nintendo touts the upcoming release of its new Fossil Fighters™ game for the portable Nintendo DS™ system with a launch event for kids and their parents. Highlights will include a chance to play Fossil Fighters in advance of its Aug. 10 release, as well as a hands-on fossil dig in which kids compete to excavate and assemble the game’s fearsome creatures for prize giveaways (while supplies last). Attendees of all ages can enjoy a live Fossil Fighters tournament, and parents will be granted free admission to the nearby Page Museum at the La Brea Tar Pits when accompanied by a child. Capcom is pleased to announce that the initial Japanese shipment of Monster Hunter Tri has surpassed 1 million units.
“Monster Hunter Tri” is the latest entry in the series, and adds fresh new features to the already rich and unique Monster Hunter experience. Beyond the greatly enhanced graphics, the entire world of “Monster Hunter” has also been expanded. For the first time in the series, the hunting of underwater aquatic beasts has been made possible. Also, “Monster Hunter Tri” has been tailored to home consoles by making use of the Nintendo Wii online functionality for multiplayer, implementing a split-screen co-op mode and introducing a new Arena fighting mode. The DS number is pretty astounding…But how has the DSi performed? According to the same report, the handheld is already at 6.9 million.
