Secrets, track upgrades, and more in Spirit Tracks

One of the main aspects that hasn’t been addressed in The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks is the game’s use of the train. While the boat from Phantom Hourglass provides the player with a great deal of freedom, there have been some concerns that the train sections of Spirit Tracks will be more like an on-rails experience. However, Nintendo has essentially put these fears to rest today. Nintendo of America’s Kit Ellis explained that while traveling, Link will be able to discover new areas and secrets, upgrade the train, and most importantly, you’ll be given the chance to create your own path as the game progresses.
“As with any Zelda game, exploration is a big part of it and you’re not just going from A to B on the train. You are uncovering secrets, finding new places, and the train you can actually upgrade as you go along. Eventually you’ll even be able to lay your own track and do a bit of exploration that way as well.”

Goldeneye Wiimake slated for 2010 release?
Posted on 15 years ago by Austin(@NE_Austin) in News, Wii | 3 Comments
A résumé for ex-Eurocom animator seems to have let out a bit more information that EA may have desired, naming “Goldeneye 2010” as one of his pieces of past work. Apparently, Craig Peck (the man behind the résumé) worked as an animator on “Activision’s James Bond series for the Nintendo Wii”, and much of his job involved “key frame animation, the preparation and clean-up of motion capture data, prop animation, in-game cut-scene animation, scene layout, and camera animation.”. Of course, no word on whether this means anything or not yet, but as the news comes in we’ll be sure to stay on top of it!
Capcom to bring Re5 and Lost Planet 2 engine (MT Framework) to Wii
Posted on 15 years ago by Austin(@NE_Austin) in News, Wii | 5 Comments
Generally, Japanese stock market index Nikkei doesn’t bring too much in terms of major gaming announcements, but today it brings two. First, we learned of a new DSi model, and now a report from the index tells that Capcom is going to bring their high-end engine, MT Framework, over to Wii. The engine has powered such games as Resident Evil 5 and Lost Planet 2, and it looks as though the company is interested in using the move to not only increase production efficiency, but to include Wii versions of more of their multiplatform games.
As of now, there is no news on what games would be using the engine on Wii, but if you had to speculate, where would your predictions lay?
Nikkei says DSi model change coming with bigger screen

Acclaimed Japanese newspaper Nikkei published an article in today’s paper regarding a new DSi model. In terms of functionality, it will be exactly the same as what is available on the market now. However, the size of the screen will be augmented to 4″. The price won’t be changing either – In Japan, the “new” DSi will cost 18900 yen. There’s no word yet if this model will release in other territories, although it is currently under discussion.
