SEGA and High Voltage Software are proud to announce that The Conduit has gone gold, and will ship to North America on June 23rd, 2009. A unique first-person shooter, The Conduit is an original IP featuring an intense conspiracy-laden single-player campaign that brings an unparalleled shooter experience exclusively to the Nintendo Wii. Soon you will be able to arm yourself with an arsenal of sci-fi gadgets and high-powered weapons as you fight against aliens, rogue agents and other enemy forces. Additionally, be ready to dominate your friends from around the globe in up-to-12-person online multiplayer battles!

Be ready to defend on June 23rd, 2009.

“Wii supply has finally exceeded demand, so we expect hardware sales to show year-over-year decreases for the first half of 2009. In order to hit its full-year Wii shipment forecast, we expect Nintendo to cut the price of the Wii before [the] holiday, likely to $199.99.” – Wedbush Morgan Securities analyst Michael Pachter

I know that the Wii had a down month according to NPD data from last night, but I just don’t think Nintendo will cut the price of the system yet. MotionPlus just released, Wii Sports Resort comes out July, and they have New Super Mario Bros. for the holidays. And if all else fails, they could always bring home the black Wii.

We discussed how a new Tingle game was being teased in the latest edition of Famitsu a few days ago, but now Nintendo has opened up an official website. There’s not much to do upon visiting, though you can participate in a tarot cards reading. A trailer is expected next Thursday.

In an interview with FT.com, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata spoke briefly about Microsoft’s new motion tech, “Project Natal”, citing that Nintendo considered the option of using a camera with the Wii, but concluded that accelerometers were a more efficient way to get where they wanted to get with the Wiimotes.

“Until they say when they’re releasing it, how much it costs and what software it comes with, we won’t know whether that is the route we should have taken. However… I think they couldn’t choose to release exactly the same thing.”
