Biomorph gets Nintendo Switch release date three years after reveal

It took longer than expected, but Biomorph finally has a release date. The game showed up on the Nintendo eShop, revealing that it’s due out in just a few days – specifically April 3, 2025.
We originally reported on the dark Metroidvania game in 2022. Originally, it was planned for the following year. It did end up dropping on PC last April, but it seems a significant amount of time was needed for the Nintendo Switch edition.

Once again, Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition takes the top spot. Also worth noting is that a couple of new games from this week’s Nintendo Direct – Rift of the NecroDancer and Disney Villains Cursed Cafe – appear for the first time.

Inti Creates put out a launch trailer for Gal Guardians: Servants of the Dark, which debuted this week. This follows the previous Nintendo Switch title, Demon Purge, which launched in 2023.

Spike Chunsoft started up a notable Nintendo Switch eShop sale this week with the AI: The Somnium Files games at their lowest prices ever. On top of that, a ton of other titles have been discounted such as the Danganronpa series.

Adventure game Hidalgo coming to Nintendo Switch after big Kickstarter success

Infinite Thread Games, which just took its new project Hidalgo to Kickstater, has received full funding and confirmed plans for a Nintendo Switch version.
The title went the crowdfunding route this week where it reached the €15,000 goal in its first day. Infinite Thread Games will now be able to move forward and move on with development. With an art style featuring cardboard dioramas and puppets, players will find a retelling of Don Quixote’s legendary exploits.

Minecraft has a new movie coming out is in exactly one week, and to promote the film, brand new DLC has been added to the game. All players can access it right now for free.
The new DLC has players going into an arcade to compete in elytra races, survive the night, and sneak into a woodland mansion. While it all can be experienced alone, you can have friends join in the fun as well. There’s also a leaderboard to keep things fresh.

Best Buy Canada says Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders begin April 2 [update: new pre-order details, possibly April 9]

Best Buy Canada has announced that it will open pre-orders for Nintendo Switch 2 on April 2, 2025.
Many have expected reservations to begin next week, but this is the first time a retailer has come forward with any sort of official information. Nintendo Direct: Nintendo Switch 2 will be held on April 2, and there’s a very strong chance that we’ll be getting the console’s release date during that presentation. Best Buy acknowledged the Nintendo Direct in its post, indicating that pre-orders will start sometime after the event concludes.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails Beyond the Horizon is in development for Nintendo Switch, NIS America and Falcom revealed today.
The RPG released in Japan and Asia last September with the subtitle Kai no Kiseki – Farewell, O Zemuria on PlayStation platforms and PC. Not only do we now know that the game is getting localized, but also that it’s getting a new Nintendo Switch version.

Solo developer KingStyle today shared plans to release Little Droid on Nintendo Switch. The game is due out on April 10, 2025.
Little Droid is a Metroidvania-style adventure game. Players will explore a richly detailed environment, obtain new weapons and abilities, and uncover secrets while pursuing the source of a mysterious signal. When the game comes to Nintendo Switch, it’ll feature refined visuals and an optional easier difficulty mode.
