Hot Wheels: World’s Best Driver heading to Wii U, 3DS

GameStop and EB Games have outed “Hot Wheels: World’s Best Driver” for Wii U, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. Firebrand Games is behind this one – the team that made Trackmania DS and Need for Speed: The Run for Wii and 3DS, but also the dreadful Fast & Furious: Showdown. Warner Bros. is handling publishing duties.

The following is a column that Smash Bros. and Kid Icarus: Uprising creator wrote for Famitsu magazine in Japan. He starts off reminiscing about the three years it took to make Super Smash Bros. Brawl:
“When you think about three years like that, that’s the amount of time between entering middle or high school and graduating from it [in Japan]. You have all these people working their fingers to the bone to complete just a single project. The games I make tend to be played for a long time, and whether I’m satisfied with the results or there are things I’m not happy with, it always takes a lot of time to make them.”

Pokémon that Mega Evolve will tap into hidden reserves of strength and power that have never been realized in their regular Evolutions, giving players battling with a Mega-Evolved Pokémon a dominant advantage. Pokémon like Mega Mewtwo and Mega Lucario will harness the power of Mega Evolution in battle and will see their looks change and stats increase, giving Trainers a great advantage against their opponents. Some Pokémon that Mega Evolve may even change their Ability or type while in battle. Only certain Pokémon, under certain conditions, can Mega Evolve, and unlike regular Evolution, Mega Evolution only occurs during battle–once the battle ends, the Mega-Evolved Pokémon will return to its usual state. One crucial element to undergoing Mega Evolution is a particular kind of item called a Mega Stone. Mega Stones are special stones that exist for all Pokémon that can Mega Evolve, each named after the Pokémon to which it grants power. Mega Stones are hidden throughout the Kalos region, and players must find them to unlock the incredible power of Mega Evolution.

Zen United bringing Senran Kagura Burst to Europe next year (physical and downloadable)

XSEED intends to release Senran Kagura Burst in North America this fall. It’s been confirmed that Europe will be getting the game as well, but early next year. The wait may be worth it though as Senran Kagura burst will be available as a physical release as well as downloadable.
Zen United announced plans today to publish Senran Kagura Burst across Europe. MAQL Europe, the European division of Japanese publisher Marvelous AQL, seems to be behind localization, though Zen United will handle distribution, PR and marketing.
