Square Enix is developing a 3DS remake of Dragon Quest Monsters 2 – otherwise known as Dragon Warrior Monsters 2. An official teaser site opened today is located here.

The 3DS version will support up to eight players, StreetPass, local and Internet connectivity, and one save slot. A release date hasn’t been announced at this time.

Dragon Quest creator Yuji Horii is the remake’s director. Akira Toriyama is handling monster designs, while Koichi Sugiyama will be responsible for music.

In April, a new trademark for Dragon Quest Monsters 2 was discovered in the Japanese database. The finding resulted in speculation regarding a potential remake, which has now been revealed today.

Newegg has a slight combo deal on Shin Megami Tensei IV and Fire Emblem: Awakening. Buy the two together, and you’ll get $10 off. You’ll also be eligible for the $30 eShop credit if you handle things on Club Nintendo, so it’d be like getting Fire Emblem for free.
