3DS

Nintendo’s latest 3DS update wasn’t so simple after all. It may very well have improved the stability of the system, but there are reports floating around that the new firmware takes down practically every flashcard.

The news comes from manufacturer SuperCard, who says that once the update is applied, flashcard makers are unable to update their device’s software. This makes it much more difficult to bypass Nintendo’s security implementations, and product distributors would need to introduce brand new hardware just to bypass the measures embedded into the 3DS.
