NIS America finds Wii U interesting, not planning more 3DS titles currently, finds market to be poor
Posted on 13 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 1 Comment
Haru Akenga, President of NIS America, has provided some commentary about the Wii U and 3DS.
First, Akenga was asked about Wii U:
“That’s interesting. It’s an interesting system. Unfortunately, we didn’t have any information about Wii U until the morning of the press conference. Maybe, we’re going to think about it, moving forward. At this moment, we have no plans to develop for the platform.”
Akenga was then asked if NIS America is planning on releasing additional 3DS titles. Akenga said:
“Not right now. Do you think we should? The market is not great now.”
Well, I can’t exactly say he’s wrong about the 3DS sales situation right now. Sales of the system haven’t been up to snuff just yet and games aren’t lighting the sales charts on fire. Then again, there haven’t been a whole lot of high-quality releases for the portable. Will things change with Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D (we’ve seen Japan sales, though NPD data won’t be available for a couple of weeks)? And how will third-parties fair in the future? These are just a couple of questions I personally have in mind.

Pokemon trading card game contains DS tutorial software
Posted on 13 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 0 comments
A new Pokemon DS game titled “How to Play Pokemon Card Game DS” is launching in Japan in roughly one month. The thing is, it’s actually just a tutorial that’s included with a card-playing game. If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to play the card game, perhaps this software will aid you in your quest.
The cart contains a quiz mode and rule dictionary. Expectedly, you’ll also be able to face off against a CPU opponent like you would in the real world. Players will be able to transfer the game to other DS owners as well.
The full set, which includes playing cards, three 30 card decks, a play matt, a damage counter, and the DS tutorial, will be released in Japan on August 5 for ¥2,980.
nintendogs + cats has new boxart in Japan

You can kind of say that the launch box for nintendogs + cats in Japan is a collector’s item. Why? Nintendo has decided to completely change the game’s boxart because some folks were getting confused as to which titles were for DS, and which ones were for 3DS. Silly if you ask me, especially since it’s quite easy to differentiate between 3DS and DS software…

Nintendo teasing special 3DS event in Europe for July 19
Posted on 13 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 0 comments
This information comes from a Nintendo of Europe press email…
“A key date for your diary – Tuesday 19th July 2011.
We would love you to join us on 19th July 2011 for an exclusive Nintendo 3DS event. More will be revealed next week, but trust us when we say you won’t believe your eyes!
Hope to see you there.”
Could this be at all related to Nintendo Video for 3DS? The service is scheduled to go live this summer. Perhaps Nintendo will introduce the video application to the media just like what we saw with the eShop and introduce it to the rest of the world a few days later.
Rumor: The Last Story in English at Japan Expo, Pandora’s Tower playable, more

Rumor has it that the two other “pieces” of the Japanese Wii RPG puzzle have shown up in Europe. The Last Story and Pandora’s Tower are both apparently at the Japan Expo in Paris. The Last Story is supposedly playable in English while Pandora’s Tower is represented in Japanese. Still, if true, the fact that both these titles are at the show is a very positive sign that the games will be released in Europe.
Other titles playable at the event include:
3DS
Super Mario
Mario Kart
Kid Icarus: Uprising
Star Fox 64 3D
Luigi’s Mansion 2
Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D
Resident Evil: Revelations
Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D
Wii
Kirby Wii
Rhythm Heaven Wii
Xenoblade Chronicles
