3DS

We knew the game was coming thanks to Nintendo Power, but Aksys Games officially confirmed the news today.

TORRANCE, Calif.–April 15th, 2011–Aksys Games, a publisher of interactive entertainment software, is pleased to announce that BlazBlue: Continuum Shift II will be headed to both the PSP® system and the Nintendo 3DS™ handheld system in Spring 2011. BlazBlue: Continuum Shift II is an enhanced port of the critically-acclaimed BlazBlue: Continuum Shift, and the next installment in the popular 2D fighting game series known as BlazBlue.

BlazBlue: Continuum Shift II contains the complete set of single player features from the console version, such as Arcade, Score Attack, Training, and Story mode, and also has an ad-hoc Network mode for multiplayer play. This impressive list of features is topped off with new content created specially for the handheld version, including extra story material and brand-new modes such as Legion 1.5 and Abyss Mode.

Do you live in Japan? Are you a member of Club Nintendo? If the answer to both of these questions is “yes”, then you may want to think about purchasing a giant 3DS AR Card for 200 coins. The front of the card will let you bring a giant Mii to life while the back features the Mario AR Card to create a giant Mario. The card measures in at 73cm x 46cm. Nintendo will officially release the cards on July 1.

Thanks to Thomas N for the tip!

We know that the 3DS sold around 460,000 units in March – that’s in the US, of course. What about the software, though? Which was the best-selling title at launch? While the 3DS is very early on in its lifecycle, it’s encouraging to see that Super Street Fighter IV 3D, a game that wasn’t released by Nintendo, sold the most in March.

1. Super Street Fighter IV 3D
2. PilotWings Resort
3. LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars
4. Rayman 3D
5. Tom Clancy Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars
6. Super Monkey Ball 3D
7. nintendogs + cats: Golden Retriever & New Friends
8. Ridge Racer 3D
9. Steel Diver
10. nintendogs + cats: French Bulldog & New Friends

Much to the delight of Zelda fans, Nintendo released a number of new Ocarina of Time 3D screenshots last night. And just like the last few image batches, a number of comparison photos have already been created. So, what do you think? Are you pleased with the graphical improvements?
