The new 3DS Castlevania game doesn’t appear to be subtitled Mirror of Faith. Instead, it sounds like it’ll be called “Mirror of Fate”.

Konami has registered a couple of domain names relating to the title, making it seem as though an announcement is inevitable. Both CastleVania-MirrorOfFate.com and CastleVania-MirrorOfFate.net were picked up by Konami earlier this year.

The company is expected to make the game official late next week during its pre-E3 show. Konami hasn’t made an official announcement about the event, though it should be taking place on May 31.

New Game for Nintendo 3DS Features Singles and Doubles Matches, Special Games, Online Multiplayer Modes and Mii Customization Options

REDMOND, Wash., May 21, 2012 – Rain or shine, Nintendo fans can now enjoy a fun flurry of tennis-themed challenges anytime, anywhere. Mario Tennis Open is now available for the Nintendo 3DS hand-held system, inviting players to step onto the court with Mario and his Mushroom Kingdom pals for fast-paced singles and doubles tennis matches, skill-building Special Games and new online modes that let friends and family members with wireless Internet access compete together. The game also features new ways for players to customize their Mii characters and interact with other players via the built-in StreetPass feature.

In Mario Tennis Open, players can take on the role of fan-favorite characters such as Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach and Bowser, or play as their own personalized Mii character. Choosing between the Nintendo 3DS system’s intuitive touch-screen controls or traditional button controls, they can dive into action-packed tennis matches in single-player mode or invite others to join in the fun using a local wireless or Wi-Fi Internet connection. With each victory, players accumulate coins that can be redeemed for virtual items like rackets, sneakers and tennis uniforms, which not only enhance the appearance of their Mii character but also boost their stats on the court.

SEGA has confirmed that Aliens: Colonial Marines won’t be running on Wii U at this year’s E3. It should be playable on other platforms, however, such as the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Aliens: Colonial Marines received a February 12, 2013 release date today. While one would have thought that the Wii U version would arrive on the same day as the PS3, 360, and PC editions, the fact that it won’t be playable on Nintendo’s new console is concerning. It’s possible that the Wii U title won’t be ready until mid-2013 – we can only speculate for now.

A new reward has been added to the North American Club Nintendo site.

The 3DS Luigi pouch was made available in March. Starting today, members can order a Mario pouch as well. It can be purchased for 450 coins.

Nintendo provided the following description of the reward:

Show your love for Mario with this protective case for Nintendo portable systems. Made of durable nylon with a zip enclosure, the pouch has a built-in pocket for an extra Nintendo 3DS or Nintendo DS game card.

  • Durable nylon construction
  • Fits Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo DSi, and Nintendo DS Lite
  • Dimensions: Approx. 5 inches x 7 inches

Aliens: Colonial Marines technically became a real “thing” six years ago. An announcement about the new game was made in 2006 once 20th Century Fox, SEGA, and Gearbox came to an agreement.

However, it wasn’t until 2008 that we actually saw got a first look at Colonial Marines. So even though it may seem as though the title has been in the works for an extremely long time, developer Gearbox believes its development cycle is comparable to that of Borderlands and the original Brothers in Arms, some of the studio’s previous projects.

Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford commented on the seemingly lengthy dev cycle for Aliens: Colonial Marines today:

Update: NeoGAF member “Santiako” is adding more details to the rumor. Mirror of Faith features 2D gameplay similar to what was produced on the DS. However, Mercury Steam is making the game rather than Konami. Konami will still be publishing.

It seems that Konami will be announcing Castlevania: Mirror of Faith, a new 3DS title, at this year’s E3. The news apparently comes from the company’s appointment schedule for the event.

Gameplay information is not yet available. However, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow producer David Cox and director/writer Enric Álvarez are supposedly working on Mirror of Faith.

Take this with a grain of salt for now. It would certainly make sense to bring a new Castlevania to the 3DS though.

RollerCoaster Tycoon 3D is still without a final release date. Nevertheless, Nintendo Power did provide a verdict for the title in its May 2012 issue.

We menetioned that the publication gave RollerCoaster Tycoon a 5.5 / 10 several weeks ago. As far as what was said about the game….

– Build plenty rollercoasters in Coaster Story mode
– This mode has players helping tycoons revitalize their parks
– Help them raise money and attract guests
– Missions are generally simple but decently paced
– They challenge your coaster-constructing skills as well
– Fun to experiment with the coaster types to see what you can create
– Build and save up to nine rides using the separate Coaster Creator mode
– Pull your creations later to fulfill Coaster Story mission objectives
– Sandbox Mode is “a huge letdown”
– Unlimited funds, big plot of land available
– Very small limit on the number of rides, coaster parts, scenery pieces, shops, and footpaths that can be added to the park
– Lacks details that gave older entries some of their charm
– Can’t check guest statuses
– Can’t name rides
– Interface is cumbersome, making reconstructing sections of roller coasters difficult
– Can’t modify a coaster’s track without deleting each pieces that follows the area you wish to change

“Although RollerCoaster Tycoon 3D can be fun, its shortcoming prevent it from being the immersive experience the series is famous for. Fans might be excited to see the franchise return, but this portable simplification will leave most players feeling less than thrilled.
